File Name: Mario Andretti - Gottlieb/Premier 1995

File Submitter: rascal

File Submitted: 21 Feb 2019

File Category: VPX/VPinMAME Recreations

Author(s): Steely
Rascal
Manufacturer: Premier
Year: 1995
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

This is a VPX recreation of a 1995 Gottlieb/Premier Mario Andretti pinball machine. Big thanks to Destruk, Darth Soudiuos, and Joe for their earlier VP8 version.  Thanks to Pinball Ken for his ball collision script and sounds, and JP for his ball rolling script and sounds .  I co-authored this table with Steely. He did some masterful work on the spinner in this table along with other nice improvements. This table is a blast to play. It needs the rom "andretti.zip" to run, you will have to find that yourself.

Thank you !!!

Can you tell me how to make the dmd on the top of my cabinet playfield go away?

It currently cannot be highlighted (show border) to make it smaller or drag it

It should go away on its own if the table detects that you have B2S. Otherwise you can change line 23 from Flasher23.Visible = True to Flasher23.Visible = False. If you want the movable vpinmame dmd you can change line 13 to VarHidden=0 too. The other option is that you can find this Flasher23 on the editor and unlock it and move it where you want.

Same issue as Mustang above...  Downloaded 1.1, but DMD is still sideways...  I remember having this issue before and there was some setting in the script to change it, but can't remember what it was...  (I am old, that is my excuse  :wacko: )

Any thoughts / help is much appreciated!

Thanks

Axel

Ok, well I removed the flasher dmd on full screen tables all together. So version 1.2 no longer looks for B2S to be on. it should rotate the dmd when you switch from desktop to fullscreen. I think it might be because this table was never added to DOF maybe??? I am not a fullscreen player or a cab owner, so if this doesn't work, you will have to get help from a fellow fullscreen cab owner. Try version 1.2 it should work.

EDIT: Wait a minute, that is rotated in your picture. You want it not rotated. Go to line 18 in version 1.2 and change VarRol from 1 to 0. The B2S screen is not rotated. DOH!

I got my dmd to rotate and move, but I’m wondering if anyone else’s dmd is very large with three extra numbers under it? Those numbers represent the playfield numbers. Is there a way to hide them? I know this happens on the Shaq table as well.

Ok, I'm reading that the B2SOn varable will only work on tables that have been added to DOF. So for now you just need to change line 18 to VarRol = 0 manually. Once it gets added to DOF, then I can add the B2SOn varable again. Someone tell me if I am correct please.

Hi rascal,

V1.2 shows not improvemenent, additionally I found another issue on the playfield, maybe a hint to get it fixed???

Attached File  MAPF.jpg   40KB   11 downloads

Further I tried to"overwrite" the rotation setting of the DMD with

line 39 commented out

line 41     .rol=1 alternatively I tried .rol=0 no effect

It seems to me for an unknown reason the DMD is not affected by the command, but why?

my regards, Christian.

I'm at a loss about your DMD issue, but I did upload a small change now where I forgot to remove the test textbox. It is now gone.

you need to hide textbox1

change script like

If Table1.ShowDT = true then
VarRol=0:VarHidden=1
Textbox2.visible = True
Textbox3.visible = True
Else
VarRol=1:VarHidden=0
Textbox1.visible = False
Textbox2.visible = False
Textbox3.visible = False
End If
