Some VPX B2S Backglasses not being loaded from PinballX. Why?

I recently had to reinstall my entire cabinet setup after my original Win7-based installation's hard drive died.  I have since installed Win10 (64-bit), VPX, PinballX (32-bit, since the 64-bit version caused DOF problems), and the LAV filters (video codec for PinballX to use).  Superficially, things seem to work. But......

When I start VPX tables directly from VPX, they all run fine: Table starts, DMD is in the correct position, AND the b2s backglass loads and functions.  For example, when I start the Terminator 2 table (g5k's version), the opened windows appear this way: There is a "Form1" window with the functional b2s backglass.

But, when I open the same table from within PinballX, I do not see the b2s backglass and the windows are like this:  (no "Form1" window with the b2s backglass)

I've noticed the same problem with a few other tables including: Monster Bash and Black Rose.

Other tables, like The Getaway, when launched from PinballX seem to work correctly: (with the "Form1" window opened and a b2s backglass loaded)

Does anyone have any idea what could be going on here?

I've verified that the "disable b2s" option in VPX is unchecked.

Any help is much appreciated.  Thanks.

I too am having weird things with  PinballX 3.03 - 3.29 and focus issues after moving to Windows 10.  Windows 7 was the best, everything worked perfectly.  Windows 10, nothing but headaches.  I'm at a loss right now. My issue is the playfield on certain tables never loads to the front and only the PinX loading screen is there.  The playfield is behind it.

I even tried setting VPX to "force fullscreen" (and used SetDMD to assign the DDRAW to 0 for my roms) and PinballX to Windowed/Fullscreen.  Nothing changed.  Some tables (like T2 and Black Rose) do not even open the b2s backglass. It's not an issue of window focus (as can be seen in my original post pix)...the dang b2s backglass just won't open when the tables are started fro PBX.

I'm going to try PinballY and PinUp Popper.

Okay...I did a reinstall of WIndows 10 along with VPX and PinballX.  I restored my configurations.

Before installing DOF, I started tables straight from VPX and also through PinballX.  B2s backglasses seem to start fine (with the "form1" window opening - please see original post).

I then installed DOF.  When I start tables through VPX, the b2s backglass loads and DOF works.  But, when I start many tables from PinballX, the b2s backglass does not load (no "form1" window being created). Though, DOF still works.

I'm attaching my log files from before and after I installed DOF as well as my pinballx.ini file (with .txt suffix so that it can be uploaded).

Any help or insight is appreciated.

Are you sure your directB2S files are named exactly as their tables?

Tried your recommendation. It didn't make any difference.

Looks like my days using PinballX are coming to an end.

Are you having the same problem with VP9 tables?

Are you running VP-10 tables in Window fullscreen or force Exclusive fullscreen?

I haven't tried VP9 tables.

Currently running VPX in "window fullscreen."

As you recommended, I set PBX FullScreenWindowed=false.  It did not make any difference.

I started trying PinballY. All B2S backglasses load fine from PinballY.

Same problem here with latest B2S Server. Works fine with older version though.

Did you ever figure out this issue?

Mine has always worked flawlessly until I downloaded the new Flintstones VPX the other day. It's backglass will load from PinballX only occasionally but usually not.

Every other table I have has no issues. These include VPT tables and Pinup tables. Only the new Flintstones does this.

I am running Visual Pinball 10.6.

Thanks

I have a similar issue with my PinballX never able to open Night of the Living Dead db2s and also an old VP9 version db2s of High Roller Casino?  Strange.

Looking at the PinballX site it looks like the newer versions may fix this issue with new tables made with VPX.6.

I will look into this but only if I don't have to set up everything from scratch.
