"Not another AFM, and a Mod to boot" *eyeroll* - everyone

Here's my version of AFM.  This is the table, that when friends are over, were up till the wee hours playing.  I've wanted to build this table since I started building tables, and I did may times but never really finished them.  I'm still not finish, and probably never will be, but it’s done enough to share.  I sorta hate to release a mod, but honestly, it's gotten too good to not share.

"short" table history...... Back in the early VPX beta days, I converted over JP's vp9 version and added in a few blacklight effects and put out a beta version.  Dozer took what I had and him and Hauntfreaks finished it up and it was amazing.  Pretty much what I had envisioned..  but I wanted more flipper options..  so pretty much the day after Dozers table was released I started to mod it...  Then I thought it would be cool to change the post colors...  I'll update the plastic images.  New playfield from ClarkKent.  How about a new ship with multiple colored LED lights. Target decals..  you get the idea, pretty much any mod I could find or think of I added in.  It finally got big enough I decided to share it with Wrd and Roth.  Wrd gave it a complete overhaul.  Resized everything, converted over to his physics, pretty much a complete rebuild.  It only snowballed from there.

So, like I said, the table is not done, and probably never will be.  But it's done enough to share for now.  The table is a beast!!  It runs good on my system, but I can't guarantee it will for everyone.  Sorry.

Most of all enjoy.  It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s my cup of tea and I enjoy it.  Good news is if you don't like it, or have trouble running it there are 100 different version for you to play. ;-)

The options on this table are setup a little different than my other tables...........
Before you edit the options, give the table a play...
Use the Left Manga Save to randomly toggle all options
Right Manga Save to revert to defaults
After that you can come back and tweak them if you want.

Thanks to:
jpsalas for his original table.
Dozer for his mod and everything he added in.
Wrd1972 - Object alignment, physics, playtesting and countless tweaks and fine tuning.
rothbauerw - Putting up with Wrd and me.  Also, being a code wizard!!
HauntFreaks - His original work on the table with Dozer, plus playtesting and feedback and other things I'm sure.
ClarkKent - Playfield and ramp decals (I replaced and re-inked all of the light inserts).
randr - Alien models and ramp pics and measurements.
Flupper - ramps (I did all the wild colors).
Dark - I borrowed his targets and other bits and pieces
DJRobX - SSF code and thanks to RustyCardores for showing me the way, you can't go back!!  Few modifications by Roth and myself.
nFozzy - I'm using his fading light script with a few modifications by me.
The Loafer - Playtesting and feedback.
Arngrim - Playtesting and feedback.
themotherbrain - Playtesting and feedback.
Last but not least the developers and other table authors.  This community is nothing without everyone doing their part!!!!!!

Enjoy!!

Flippers are sticking up for me. Is this dependent on a VPX version?

Just give this a try - what happens if you change

useSolenoids=2 to a 1 ?

What about turning of the backglass or replace it with another ?

Make sure you're using the latest vpinmame to take advantage of fast flips (usesolenoids=2)

I agree. I believe you only took the *.exe from the beta and that means you have the old core.vbs and that is also why you have flipper problems.

I didn't 'take' the exe file from the beta. The exe file was all there is on the PinMAME download.

I just tried this on a separate PC, not the pincab, and the flippers were stuck up. I ensured I had:

- latest VP10.6 and all scripts, etc

- latest VPINMAME 3.2 and all associated files

... and the flippers were still stuck in the up position. The solution was simple, remember to ensure you don't keep old scripts in other folders as scripts should only reside in one place now: the script folder.  So I took a look at my folder where the table resides (not the table folder as part of the install) and sure enough I had some old scripts on this pc. I removed them and boom! Problem resolved, flippers now worked perfectly with solenoid=2

So practicedummy: if problem persists, follow what I did as described in this post, put the solenoid=2 back in and enjoy fastflips.

That is odd. You should be able to run with fastflips with the new core.vbs from the vp beta thread. I don't think you really required a very new pinmame for fastflips, except if we're talking about stern tables and  InitVpmFFlipsSAM.

-- ah yes. see that Loafer responded almost at the same time as me. That of course is a given. Old scripts in tables folder is a big NO NO.

Ok cool. I'll get to work on that. Thanks for the input!

Ok I still had to set the solenoid setting to 1 after deleting all scripts and installing the newest ones.

Then you have old scripts elsewhere . Do a hd search for core.vbs on your entire HD to see. All scripts should be in ONE PLACE only, the script folder
