Ok can do, I have really good camera. So like pics of hole play field and then individual pics from as many angle of toys as possible? Do i take close up pics of individual points of play field or does that matter?
For the dozer and the fat dude, try to keep them close up, but yet in the frame (separately) and in small increment moves around them. The other plastics and the playfield, just straight overhead if possible but close up. Shoot a whole crap load, the more the better. If I can't make the models, I'm sure someone else can with enough resources. Thanks in advance for doing this.
I'm testing out this 3df zephyr free right now with a small trophy I had sitting around. I took like 46 images of the trophy and I'm masking out the object now to see if this program is worth messing with. I'll post my results.
@Rascal - Please let us know how it goes! I have experimented with this photogrammetry process as well but my results weren't to good, probably just lack of experience. Some people seem to get really good models once they get it tuned in and how to compile all the photos. After my failures in this department is what got me thinking on a 3D scanner.. been wanting one for all sorts of stuff for a while know.. will the pinball obsession be the one that pushes my over the goal line into getting one?.. If I can find a good one in the $250-500 range I'll pull the trigger and give it a try.
@worrick69 - Thanks for offering to take pictures of your table! I would say molding them and stuff would be like a last resort.. If you wanted to pull the fat guy and dump site and then take many pictures of them by them self to try the Photogrammetry method.
To do this:
Remove fat guy or dump site and place them in the center of the room on like a table or whatever. Same thing here as with the table, no flash and try to get good even lighting on the piece your shooting. Then WITHOUT MOVING THE PIECE take photos ALL around the piece, walk around it 360 taking photos high looking down, middle shots, and lower shots from many different angels all while walking around it 360.. the trick is NOT to move the piece, and just take photos as you pivot around the piece..
hopefully the photos can be stitched together and a model AND textures pulled form it
EDIT: @worrick69 - Also please be extra careful and don't damage your machine or toys just for us
I'd imagine parts are basically non existent so please, take care..
