So we know Zen and Steam will deliver us all the opportunity for Wiliams tables shortly (yay and nice). We don't have a release date yet, but it will come.
I am committed to trying to keep the force feedback, B2S backglasses and MX LEDs alive for FX3 via DOFLinx when the new release comes out. I have no idea if it is possible, how long it might take, etc, but will be working on it. In fact I am making some of my tools more robust already in preparation. To complicate this a bit more I'm about to head off on a six week holiday and will not be able to work on this until early November, if its released by then.
Until that time I suggest people who want to keep force feedback in FX3 alive do the following;
- Take a copy of your current FX3.EXE to somewhere safe and name it clearly as the "old" version (do this now before a new FX3.EXE is released and over writes it)
- When the new FX3 release comes along, take a copy of that FX3.EXE and label it appropriately
- Copy in the old FX3.EXE if you want force feedback, then the new FX3 if you want the Williams tables
DOFLinx will recognise the new FX3.EXE as a version it has not seen before and simply not enable the link. When the old FX3.EXE is put back DOFLinx will recognise it and the link will be enabled.
Exciting times !
