File Name: Swords of Fury NOROM mod

File Submitter: theGhost787

File Submitted: 15 May 2018

File Category: VPX/VPinMAME - MOD Tables

Author(s): ghost787
Manufacturer: Williams
Year: 1988
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

I have been testing this table for a few days now, the game plays without any rom
works on the latest Visual Pinball 10.5 Includes music and sound effects
I did do scripting but I couldn't get the top corner lights to work right.
The drop targets could also use more scripts.
The game also needs more of its sound effects, I searched and included all that I found.

Man - you guys are funny. I keep both versions but the NOROM version  you can edit in your own music and added scripts. In the ROM version the music is sometimes not as good.

Go play the ROM version and then tell me the music is better. LOL . .......... its all a matter of taste. :pokey:  poke poke

I am now scripting Mephisto. I got the file from Assassins32, (and will give him credit for it as well) He said it was not working with the ROM. I did the lighting and music, I just need to script it. If you guys will not like it then I will go to another Forum.

I also changed the backdrop.  :shutup1:  I know some of you dont like anything no matter what, Some of you personally dont like me and some just hate NO ROM games. Mephisto is playing very good right now, I did the drop target and sounds, and the music is fantastic It took 1 week to make. Now I will spend the rest of the week scripting.  I will use the Visual Pinball MOD section when I upload.  :wimper:  If you dont like it then dont play it.

I guess that's the table I made in 2010 when the rom was not emulated :) Then you don't need to do anything as it is already working without a ROM :)

I too wonder what's the meaning with removing the ROM from the tables. When you play a table using a ROM, you know you are playing with the original programming of the real table, and you get the same rules and sounds as the original.

Well, my tables are free to mod, so if you think you can do better, then please do the mods, but don't do it just to remove the rom because your setup can't run the roms, or you don't have downloaded the rom.

Hi jpsalas Do you have a link to a working Mephisto. I did not know you made it, Like I said I got the file from 32Assassins. I keep both ROM and NOROM files. I have 3 terabytes so Keeping modified Games is not an issue for me. I also have a few modified Quake 3 and 4 levels from a level editor and many other game mods. I have an entire MAME collection  :twiddling:  there is a good part and bad part about ROMS. You need to move the mame and rom files around, then it always asks ? Are you allowed to play this game ? Are you using controllers ? and such. So by the time I get to play it, It just becomes a big hassle.  Also some of the music has lots of static on some of the older Roms.... it is just a matter of taste.

If you dont mind I will still upload in about 1 week or 2.. or 3 whenever I get the scripts just right. It does have a different soundtrack and different lighting and all.  I am not here to make you mad. So just let me know.

You havent got him well trained, mine never asks.

I tried your NOROM file for curiosity and cause I dont like the sound on this table every time u press the flipper (it sounds to me like an angry dog), but with your file I dont hear any music at all, only the table sounds, and I see like a virtual dmd at the top of the screen with the score, but its cut in half, probably a resolution issue.

The table is from 2010 and it is here in this site (all my tables are in this site). http://www.vpforums....s&showfile=4032

Yes, I think it was workin in 2013. But I did never made the table with the ROM. I was supposed to be retired to let new authors do their thing :)
