Recently received and installed a v3 plunger kit, instantly recognized by Windows 10 and works mostly fine.  I have searched through the forums and can't find the answers to the below and would be grateful for any direction.

  1. key mapping for Fire button.  The kit documents mappings for flippers, start, etc. but I don't see how to make a mapping or some mechanism for a Fire button.  Since a number of tables (e.g. Indiana Jones, Star Trek TNG) use a button rather than the plunger, I can only make them work using the Enter key on a keyboard.  There isn't a "Fire" button map on Preferences | Keys so I don't see how to set it up?
  2. Adjustment of the plunger.  I have done the calibration as suggested (cycle power, pull back on the plunger and hold for 2+ secs, release) but the "strongest" I can make it launch is only about half the force that it would go for real.  E.g. on High Speed, the ball makes it to the top of the playfield, but then rolls back instead of going all the way 'round.  How do I make it "stronger"?

Thanks in advance to you wizened ones.

The launch ball is J1, pin 1. Labeled 'digital plunger.'

To initially calibrate the plunger, open the VirtuaPin Controller Software (virtuapincontroller.com).

1 - Pull the plunger all the way back and release.
2 - Find the plunger range value, next to the graphic for the plunger toward the top.
3 - Enter that value - 50 in the plunger range field at the bottom
4 - Click Save

The plunge behavior itself is entirely based on the plunger object in the table. For best results, I've found the following settings best ...

Pull speed: 1
Release speed: 110
Stroke length: 180
Mech strength: 85

Make sure the Enable Mechanical Plunger box is checked.

Note: some tables aren't easy to mod the plunger this way. Your mileage may vary per table.

Thank you so much for the response and guidance.  Have the controller s/w installed.  Looks like the range is 200 so I set to 150 which helps a little.  I don't see the other settings. screen shot attached.  do you have a different build of the controller s/w?  i have 0.1.10.0.

Please note Panda A/V does not like the installer for 0.1.10.0 and it has to be restored from quarantine to run it.

As to the digital plunger, it sounds like I need to add a button to the case and connect it to J1P1.  Thanks.

The other settings are in VP.

Getting the plunger to work the way you'd like takes more than just a device. Every plunger is set differently I every table. There's no consistency.

I've found the settings I like and made them global, so any table you load plunges the same.

After you've opened the software, pull the plunger back, and you should see a range greater than 200.

Thank you!  I sailed right past "The plunge behavior itself is entirely based on the plunger object in the table"

Those are awesome settings for the Plunger object.  I see how you can make the table "your own" now just by fiddling with object properties.  That's really cool.

Much appreciated.

Just installed my VirtuaPin Plunger and controller.

First Buttons and Plunger work fine on VPX Nudge and Calibration table HOWEVER...

The plunger doesnt seem to be "enabled" for my VPX tables...Like Monster Bash.

Under VPX settings, the Plunger is set to Z axis.

Am I missing some Super obvious was to enable the plunger in VPX?

Also, VPX Tables (Monster Bash) Analog Nudge doesnt work. I have Analog Nudge enabled.  How do I increase the sensitivity so I dont have to move the cabinet so hard to get the nudge to go off?

Thanks In advance,

Sean
