Hi,

I'm building my first original table.  I was wondering if there is a technique to determine if a flipper can reach a given target or ramp in the editor as opposed to playing the table.  I'm a lousy player.  I can't tell if the ball coming off the flipper is going to hit the target I set up or if it's an impossible shot.  I hope that makes sense.

Thanks!

No. But don't worry about it

That will not be a problem. Be confident that you can hit there. A flipper in VP can hit anywhere from straight up to directly to the other flipper. With a wide range of settings this can be done. It's not a matter of finding perfect setting. Just get the physics (speed, elasticity, etc) anywhere outside of wild & crazy, and you '19 can, the shots can be made.

The defaults work really good.

Real pinballs typically have a swing arc of 52 degrees, start vs end angle, the gap between the flippers is usually about 2 balls about 100 VP units. The flippers about 120 length, then the tricky bit is adjusting the various VP flipper physics to get the feel right...so really you need to test and retest or better yet get as many beta tester s as you can, VP creation is not a one person show...more so now then ever.

Thanks.  I'm using the example empty table that gets created when clicking file-new.  I haven't done anything to those flippers as yet.  I placed a ramp in the lower playfield that I can't seem to get to.  I guess I'm not the coordinated yet with my own table :)  I want it to be a challenging shot but not an impossible shot.
