- new real playfield and decals
- new physics

getting an error trying to load this in desktop mode w/ one monitor. It says Line 141 object required: "Controller". Tried re -downloading but no change. Please tell me this works in desktop mode.

You keep having these issues with many tables.
The issue is not the tables though, the issue is either with your VPX installation, or your anti virus blocking VPX from executing external scripts, or a combination of both.

 

All tables technically work in All modes

but I already cleaned out my vpx and started with a new folder with clean install and tried running one of the tables that had an issue but that did not resolve so it's not my vpx install. I can only assume it's some stupid windows 10 security thing causing scripts to not run. But then why does this affect only a handful out of hundreds of tables?

If it is windows defender then

 

from admin powershell window, paste this

AFTER you edit it for your own paths

 

Add-MpPreference -ExclusionPath "c:\emulation\VPX\Scripts\*.vbs"

Add-MpPreference -ExclusionProcess "c:\emulation\VPX\VPinballX.exe"

Add-MpPreference -ExclusionPath "c:\emulation\VPX\Tables\*.vbs"

Add-MpPreference -ExclusionProcess "c:\emulation\FP\Future Pinball.exe"

Add-MpPreference -ExclusionPath "c:\emulation\FP\Scripts\*.vbs"

 

 

You could even disabled defender temporarily, just to test if that is the issue

My firewall is controlled by norton antivirus. I tried turning off smart firewall and also Norton but same error.; I doubt it's related to defender or antivirus. For pirates of the carribean, it says line 141 object required: controller. and it highlights the line that says: Controller.GameName="potc_600as". I confirmed I have that rom loaded in the roms folder. What does it mean by 'controller'?

It sounds as if Controller.vbs is not loading, or there is another controller.vbs someplace it should not be, or something.

searched on the whole PC and the c drive only shows 1 controller.vbs file in the scripts folder. It showed 3 others but those are on the other SSD drive. Not the main drive. Just storage. But just for giggles, I deleted all but the one on the c drive and still get the error.

Not sure then, i am running out of ideas, but it is not the table itself, and i have that table

and a stock VPX installation, aside from flexDMD and the updated ultraDMD, and freezy's 1.8 DMD extensions.

No PUP stuff, no DOF hardware, no PinDMD, no pinscape etc.

 

And the table just works, works on my laptop too and it is a potato

yeah this is driving me insane. Now I'm getting another controller error on the Rogo table. Seems like they are mostly different lines. Rogo is pointing to an error with line 129 Controller.B2ssetCredits credits. This makes no sense considering I have deleted all b2s files. Grrrr!

Go to line 9 in the script, and make sure you've "Const cController = 1", because "1=VPinMAME"

OMG it was set to 3! WTH? How I didn't catch that is beyond me. Hopefully this will resolve a couple of tables at least. Thanks!

Odd he would need to do that, i have this table on my laptop
and no b2s's cause no place to display them normally, and it auto flips to vpnmame on it's own.
Mine still has the default setting of 3

I'm also a desktop user, using no b2s, and the author added these options in the script, so why don't use them ?

 

It worked for me and apparently for bpjacobsen too

 

Personally, I don't use this version of the table, it's nice but I found one I prefer on the other site

You'd have to see his other posts, but like half his tables are not working
If he made a thread dedicated to that, and the core issues could be identified and fixed, i think he'd have a lot less issues?

First time your run controller.vbs it should create ccontroller.txt that many tables use. If you answered that question like an ass, or copy VP from a machine that has different requirements, well, then you won't be asked the question and it will by default have the wrong settings.

 

Solution : Delete that file, then answer it correctly this time around.

 

These exists a few relic files that can still screw you up on some tables ...

 

LMEMDOFTables.txt or something in that direction.

There are just a handful of tables out of hundreds that have the issues. Most of them work fine.
