Thank's for sharing. Really nice first release. biggrin.gif
One thing. I change the table slope from 4.5 to 7 (plus stronger plunger), and it works physically better and faster. cool.gif

I'm still  here!

Thanks for the tip Robert, also, I'd recommend a plunger release speed of 140 with the slope changed to 7. If I see more comments, agreeing with these settings I'll updated the file and re-upload it in a few days after I see more comments/bug reports.

Best Regards,
Todd.

Excellent job!!! This is a fun table. I also had to change the table slope, I put it on 6.5, but I may try it even higher. I wanted to mention to you to click on the left bumper, look at the options on the right and change the Timer interval to 35 and then play the table and compare the Left and right bumper animations.... Could be just me, but 35 seems to look better and that is the first number I threw in there, so you could experiment.

Thanks for the table and what's next!?! I just wanted to slip that in there. smile.gif

Thanks Bob! I was hoping to do Meteor or Sea Witch, but Martin seems to have some concerns about allowing me to use his FP playfield and plastics from Meteor, and someone else said they are doing Sea Witch. So I might go back to working on my Avro Arrow table in order to learn more photoshop and possibly learn illustrator. I am thinking that if I "Art Deco" my Avro Arrow playfield that it might have a more attractive look actually.

Best Regards,
Todd.

Just updated to version 1.0.2 to implement a few suggested fixes & improvements:

Version 1.0.2 Release notes:
-upgraded the slope to 7 (thx Robert Kundrat)
-upgraded the plunger release speed to 140
-fixed the texture on the drop targets from appearing on the side (thx destruk)

btw - it's in the credits too, but I wanted to thank Unclewilly and Noah Fentz for taking the time to teach me about GI Lighting and how to implement it in the table script. I would also like to thank Scapino - your PDF file to fake GI Lighting on your website was the one I learned 'Fake' GI Lighting in photoshop from.

Best Regards,
Todd.

The coordinate system for side images depends a lot on the image you're using. Alternately, you could have made the side image wider and centered, with more white space on the sides to position it. Usually I find it easier to simply use the .05/.95 setting as most target decals already have blank space to the sides of the image.

I had some spare time this morning so I figured out what I was doing wrong with a couple of sound issues. Here's the release notes.

Version 1.0.5 Release notes:
-minor sound issues with the sling shots not always firing and missing ball roll sound after being plunged
-versions 1.0.3 & 1.0.4 were unreleased due to unsuccessful attempts to fix these sound issues

Best Regards,
Todd.

Todd, how did you fix the slingshots to always fire? I notice this more and more as I play tables.

Hi Bob,

I make rubber walls the way wtiger taught me to in the 90's workshop by sandwiching walls on top of each other and instinctively, I kept choosing the wall with a height of 25 as the one which would fire the solenoid sound. I noticed that sometimes it wouldn't fire so through trial and error it seems that the wall at height 36 is a somewhat more reliable choice. (version 1.0.3 and 1.0.4 was me tearing apart the slingshot rubber to see which height fired best/most often.) If it continues to be a problem, I'm going to try a box shaped trigger on the playfield very close to the sling to try and have the sound fire that way.

Best Regards,
Todd.

The reason sometimes the slingshot doesn't fire is because you have multiple walls exactly in the same physical x/y coordinates, all with slingshots in the same place. You have a leftsling wall with control points of
136.6079 / 1172.88 with slingshot checked, and 89.80775 / 952.8795 at 36 height, and then you have an identical wall with control points of
136.6079 / 1172.88 with slingshot checked, and 89.80775 / 952.8795 at 26 height, and the same for wall261 at 30 height, 34 height, and 32 height.

move the coordinates for the wall at 25 closer to the middle of the table so that is ensured to be hit first, and that will help. Even a minor change like 136.61 and 89.80985 would be sufficient for the wall at 25 height. And disable the slingshots on all the other copied walls. If you want the slingshot to be animated and look better when it fires, uncheck the 'animate slingshot' box and drop or raise walls, or use emreels for the slingshot graphic frames. As long as the score increases when it should, when the game isn't tilted and the slingshot is hit, vpm should be firing the solenoid for it.

Build a fire, vipers love the heat.
