File Name: Capersville (Bally 1966)

File Submitter: scottacus

File Submitted: 25 Aug 2017

File Category: VP 9.x Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): Scottacus - directb2s and dof update
Arngrim - dof edit
Starman - original exe
Manufacturer: Bally
Year: 1966
Media Pack: Link to Media Pack
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

This is my first attempt at making a directB2S update of a B2S exe table.  There is a new directB2S backglass that is available for this table and the table has incorporated DOF.

Capersville is a great Bally table from 1966 that features zipper flippers, four different modes and a three ball multiball, pretty heavy duty for the mid 60's!

Change the variable "FreePlay" in the script to set the game for freeplay or credit play.

I have added an additional mode for the game called "EBMode" that can be selected in the script.  The "Deep 4 Caper" involves locking a ball into the trap just to the left of the shooter lane and then hitting the white mushroom target four times to finally release the captured ball back into the launch lane.  The way Starman's original exe table played, this ball acts as an extra ball should you loose the active ball on the table.  If the active ball is captured by the Deep 4 Caper trap or falls into either of the top two ball captures, the extra ball is lost because the ball in the shooter lane becomes the next ball released.  My "EBMode" makes sure that the player receives an extra ball for completing the Deep 4 Caper regardless of what happens to the active ball.  I have been unable to contact any owners of the table to find how the actual table plays the "Deep 4 Caper" so I leave it to you to choose how you want the table to play.  To activate this set EBMode to True in the script.

Thanks to Starman for this excellent 60's Bally table!
Thanks to Loserman76 and Arngrim for their help in making this table!
Thanks to Xenonph for his hours of testing!

This is great, Love removing old tables that only have the old style EXE b2s.  Renaming those were a PIA.  Any plans on converting more of them (I think I have about 50 old style tables left).  How about a little tutorial on how you did it?  Thanks

I have another great table all ready for release just in time for the start of the football season.  Pinuck has given me permission to update his Gridiron (Gottlieb 1977) so I made a new backglass, edited the script and added DOF.  Xenonph has spent hours testing the table so I'm pretty sure I didn't bugger up any of Pinuck's code.  All I am waiting for is to hear back from Arngrim that the DOF in the online config tool is ready to go and I'll upload that table.

As far as a tutorial on updating these older exe's there are three levels of change that can be made and they vary from:

- add DOF to the old exe file (Arngrim has DOF E code for many of these games in the config tool already) [takes a few hours]

- change out all of the old exe script for directb2s script and build a backglass [takes a couple of days and goes faster the more you do]

- make a new VPX version of the table [best option but a huge project]

The old exe tables are generally not looked upon favorably but they run perfectly fine so if you want to do a bunch of tables, the first option is best.

Thanks for the instructions, Love your other table as well, thanks.  Yeah I remember having to have 2 versions of tables, one with and one without DOF (I just like collecting all). Also cab & desktop vs only 1, so much easier now!
