Hi all,

I am currently playing in desktop mode and have mapped left and right nudge to keys. When i press those keys while the ball is rolling, (on some tables) the table shakes in the appropriate direction but the ball doesnt change directions. However, if the ball is resting on a flipper and I nudge, the ball moves in the correct direction. Is this expected on some tables? In Theatre of Magic, I feel like I have a lot of control and the ball moves when I nudge but I dont see the camera shake like on others.

This is in VPX 10.3.

VPX is not TPA, ball rolling around playfield can not be moved by nudge, you move table so ball must bounce of something.

If you can change direction of the ball by nudging - there is something wrong with table or you play VP9 :)

One day i'll build Vitalik statue out of used AMD gpu's.

Some people actually want to have that VP9-ish (or even VP8-ish) keyboard nudge back..

It's on my todo-list to have this (optionally of course!!), but don't know if it's actually doable easily, given all the physics changes that happened for PM5/VPX..

Look at the script for nudge. You should see left nudge, right nudge. Increase the second value to increase the nudge amount. Try value of 25

The visual shake is just visual, you can increase/ decrease the visual shake in the preference settings

Thank you all for the responses. Yes, I guess I'm one of those that likes the VP9 feel of nudging (as inaccurate as it is). ;)

Go to Preference then click on "Configure Keys, Nudge, and DOF"

In the "Keys, Nudge, and DOF" menu, there's an option called "Legacy/VP9-style non-realistic Keyboard Nudge". Just need to click on the checkbox to activate it (I'm currently using version 10.7.2).

I know this is years late but I figured answering here could potentially help a person who's just getting started in VPX, like me.

Hope this helped :]
