After playing around in Blender, I was finally able to create a 3D model of an arcade button. Now I want to place a texture on the mesh model and get the model into a usable format for VP. Is there a guide that shows how this is done? If not can anyone give me some quick steps? The texture I want to place on the model is from a picture of the real button. I'm not sure if that is even the right way to go about doing what I want.

Google or youtube search "Blender texture mapping"  "blender texture baking" and "blender UV mapping".

I did the search and tried following the directions for unwrapping and applying the texture. I'm having a problem trying to select the vertices. My object has some beveled edges and trying to select the center line on the bevel is a nightmare. part of the time it selects just a portion of the edge line. Other times it selects more than just the line I click. Is there a trick to selecting a beveled edge? In one tutorial that I looked at they were using a subdivide for the rounding and they just undid it when edge selecting. I don't think I can do that with a bevel.
