Looking for the latest firmware update to my pindmdv3 I'm currently running v.01008

 

a few issues that im hoping an update will fix

 

1.After about an hour of no activity the dmd will goto a default window and not load up until after a complete restart.

 

2. Tried dmdext and everything ive tried in pinballfx2 still dmd blinks.

 

otherwise, works fabulous is FP and VP

mine works flawlessly for hours and hours

 

two ideas:

-maybe a problem with usb port configuration? maybe the port goes into energy saving mode after an hour? you can disable that in energy settings

-maybe overheating?

Mine is a flawless performer, as well.  I had heat concerns when I first got it and installed it with a fan that blows through it.

mine works great to but seems randomly restart the dmd when playing. Any idea

in the directory where you have pinDMD.dll, if you also have pinDMD.ini file then you should get a pinDMD_log.txt file, look at that file to see if you can see what the dmd is doing, it may help to at least start looking in the right direction.  Also that would be the first thing that anyone who could help will be asking for.  I also haven't had any real problems with mine.  As far as getting it to work  dmdext in pinball fx2, I got it to work but in the end didn't stick with pinball fx2 on the cab, if it is working with VP, its more than likely in the setup for fx2 make sure the dmdext files are unblocked and checked run as administrator.

If it is working fine playing tables, I would think it would have more of a chance to overheat when being pushed than when sitting idle, so I would agree with idea 1 that when idle it has to be dropping the usb connecton, I have had mine sitting idle for long periods of time working on menu stuff and when I start pinballx up to test or look at something I don't think I have ever had this problem

what is the proper port config? mine is

bits per second = 9600

data bits =8

parity = none

stop bits =1

flow control = none

 

i thought i had is fixed with the energy savings settings, a few were set to save, but it still happens. also sometimes the screen will lock up in the middle of flashing the PINBALLX logo, computer and tables fuction fine even with the DMD locked up, but the only way to get it back is to power cycle the DMD

those settiings are the same as mine, are your system specs newer?  I am running an i7 3.4, 16GB win7 64 bit

running an 8core AMD ASUS MB 16Gigs ram, GTX960vid, SSD drives Win7 64bit, 

Nothing i tried worked, so i just changed the settings in PinballX to stay on a table, instead of rotating out tables or going back to the wheel , once on and running a script for the rom on the DMD it will not freeze, only seemed to have problems with its running the default "pinballX" gfx on the DMD. thanks for all your help guys.

found the problem, caught it power cycling one day and unplgged the usb and still power cycled, decided to run the 12volt and 5volt to a seperate power supply, the one running my DOF, works great now. thanks for all the input.
