I just installed 2.8b and overwrote the files as indicated in the instructions and ran setup.  Now when I run any of my physics mode 5 tables, they all crash and I get an error message that the roms cannot be found.  The roms are where they always were (in the roms folder) and I have seperate VP9 and PM5 exe's in the Visual Pinball folder.

Basically I doidnt change anything I just installed 2.8b now none of the PM5 tables work.  VP9, VP10 tables are all fine

any ideas?

Can you list a few of the tables that are giving problems?  Have you tried downloading pinmame with the extra mods from that other site?

hey one last thing - I got one of the last three tables working (the ones described in the release notes on the extra mods).  for the last two if I change the script to vpinmame.controller, the roms load fine.  if I change it back to b2s.server the two tables hang and the roms don't load so I think I must have some sort of final b2s server problem as well.  never had this problem before I did the update.  is there something else I need to do to get those last two to work? ive already change the rom names and the names in the scripts as suggested

I was wondering about this 2.8, after downloading and firing up the latest VPX Congo 1.2 challenge table it gave me that error 2.8 required, though it still seemed to run fine with 2.7, looked for 2.8 here to no avail, Eh..

This is because the version of vpinmame that is on this site (the official one I might add) does not include the SAM roms as they are not currently allowed to be included in the official version.  You would have to go to another site, which can't be mentioned here, to get the unofficial version with SAM rom emulation included.
