File Name: Liberty Bell (Williams 1977) DT/FS VPX

File Submitter: allknowing2012

File Submitted: 14 Dec 2016

File Category: VPX Recreations

Author(s): allknowing2012
Manufacturer: Williams
Year: 1977
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

The companion table to Williams' Grand Prix with a similar layout but with a different rule set and no in-lanes.

I have done a complete redraw of the playfield and all but 2 of the plastics were redraws.

A new table for those table hoarders out there :-)

Amazing PAPA gameplay on youtube to show you that these "simple" tables can indeed provide a challenge and scoring big is possible!

Enjoy!

Thanks for this one, but  I am getting a script error on line 1298 Object Required 'sreels(...)'.  Any thoughts on what could be causing this?  I am using the most recent version.  Thanks!

Not getting the error here -- When do you get the error?

Shouldnt matter but try changing line 38, perhaps the ActivePlayer variable is getting out of range?

Dim score(2),sreels(2)

to

Dim score(2),sreels(10)

Hi allknowing,

I made the change in line 38 ... the error occurs again, it comes up when the bonus is counted.

Have you another idea? I like the table, so a fix would be highly appreciated.

my best regards, Christian.

I did the following:

Changed Dim score(2),sreels(2)

to

Dim score(2),sreels(10)

The table works but I can't see the reels, I'm a desktop user

Yes. I think the problem is that once the last ball drains. Activeplayer become 0 and then it tries to print that to the db2s. People with desktop don't have db2s.

I guess you could add some code to Sub Addpoints.

if ActivePlayer <> 0 then

...

end if

But, the whole game scoring seem to be out of wack anyway. In a two player game I see the opposing player getting scores when it drains.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Hi Sverre, thank you for the 1st solution - it works. And yes you are right the other player get ~ 3,000pt from his competitor due to the described drain issue. Can you recommend a fix?

Thanks, Christian.

That would require some work to figure out where the bug is. I gave it a try, but, I didn't find any immediate culprit so I just left it as is. I think there might be more bugs. While playing I purposely drained a few balls and it felt like it gave me much more score than what I deserved. (didn't really verify this) That is when I just gave up on it.

Hi,

I made a quick and dirty solution - and it seems to work.

1. add a timer called CTE (count to end), uncheck enabled, t= 2500ms

2. patch the script with this

Attached File  Script Liberty Bell.zip   25.42KB   37 downloads

played several 2-player games with the pin, with a cheat button I switched the bonus up to 100,000. Had no wrong counts anymore.

Thank you for the applause. But I think a more serious repair would be a better way to avoid the waiting time until the new ball is released.

True, Mustang, but you got a bunch of us to smile again, so well done. There must be something good in the Isemhagan water.

Cheers,

Nursie
