Hi guys, ive been using VP in my cab for about 4 years and have my toys setup using 1 LedWiz and working correctly with DOF Tools. So i downloaded everything and followed the guide, i could not get anything to launch properly but i tried someone elses INI file on a Whim and FX2 had toys working ( mostly wrong but lights came on and flashed ) in FP im getting .NET framework errors. Question is how do i go about tweaking the INI to correspond with my setup.

This is the DOFLinx.ini file that came with the package and this is where I got confused on where and how to edit it :)

####
# The config file for DOFLinx
# A mad idea by DDH69 to have some flipper sounds, RGB display and turn buttons on when playing Pinball FX2 via Steam
# Its grown a lot since that silly start!
# Note – this works with LEDWiz, PacLed64, KL25Z and Sainsmart (FTDI devices)
# Output devices outputs are entered in the format of
# device (D) and output number (#) in the format D##, so controller device 1 and output 3 is “103” without the quotes, controller board 2 output 23 is “223” without quotes
#
#### MISC ################################
# If you want to list the processes that will wake up DOFLinx, comment it out if you just want Pinball FX2

DIRECTOUTPUTCONFIG=c:\DirectOutput\config\directoutputconfig.ini
# Setting FORCE_ACTIVE=1 will cause DOFLinx to not listen for processes and just run until you kill the process.
FORCE_ACTIVE=0
# If you want the program to stop when Pinball FX2 stops then set this to 1. If you want it to run in the background all the time leave it as 0
QUIT_AFTER_FX2=0
# Set to 1 to output the game name to the log regardless of the DEBUG flag setting. Set to 0 to simply follow the DEBUG flag.
# Quite useful when you trying to get the window game name for setting game specific colours
OUTPUT_GAME_NAME=1
# 0 = OFF (normal operation), 1 = ON – When ON a window will appear and a log file will be created in the EXE directory.

Are you using a front-end to launch FX2 games

Oh no im not, For some reason in Pinball X when i launch a table from there it always launches whatever last table i played like its stuck in a loop. I dont play the tables much because they didnt have feedback. I tried to get it resolved in the PINBALL X forums but its messed up. At one time it worked and i even reinstalled windows and started from scratch. So no way to do it withoput a front-end?

You can use it without front-end

FX2  using the grid for selecting games
Add this line to your DOFLinx.ini file and set the amount of time it will take for you to select the right game you would like to play -

PROCESS_TO_ACTIVE_TIME=25000

(25000 is 25 seconds)

-

Just so you know this will cause a delay for all programs that are using the DOFLinx like future pinball....
to stop future pinball from taking longer to be recognized by the dof you can add this line

See page 5 of the DOFLinx Guide under  FP_LINK_WAIT_TIME=

If that does not work then

Clear your log, Run ones -  post your log and your DOFLinx.ini

Thanks for all the help again Outhere!! Im gonna get some sleep and tackle it tommorrow after work and report back!! I really need to get it intergrated into Pinball X again. When i check the log its only showing 3 ports starting, and its all 3 flashers in the game menu that are locked to one color and wont turn off until i exit and close of DOFLinx. Hopefully that will change with your edit.

Does it matter where I add that line? PROCESS_TO_ACTIVE_TIME=25000?

@marcdaddy, glad to have you onboard the DOFLinx journey.  Outhere is giving great advice.

A question for you, in your earlier post you stated "This is the DOFLinx.ini file that came with the package and this is where I got confused on where and how to edit it"

That isn't the default file I ship with the package so I wondered where it came from?  If it came from another member or user of DOFLinx, excellent, if it was packaged up somewhere else I'd love to know where.  To be clear, no problem with what you're doing, we're all happy to support, just wondering about origins, etc so we can keep track - thanks.

It was actually my DofLinx.ini that I sent him a while back ( he wanted to see an example).... no worries DDH69.

I haven't had much time to help out with marc or Avi....so thanks Outhere for helping out!

Thanks for helping out Guys!!! I used Terrys to test to make sure it was even working and it was. DOFLinx is awesome in FP! I need to get the FX2 figured out and hopefully i can get my Pinball X issues ironed out with it, When i launch a FX2 game in Pinball X it will load the last played game and no other one. Its really weird and i havnt been able to track down why its stuck in the loop. I also have some really good news, My Ghostbusters Premium will be shipped the 2nd week of December!! Finally, ive been waiting since May. Batman 66 hopefully in Jan/Feb :)

This should up with Pinballx setup

As you will see parts of the guide are outdated

I use Pinballx for videos so

in FX2 I set DMD Location to my 3rd screen  and I set the Back glass Location to 3300 and the size to 0
