Just now starting to investigate this aspect of things, thanks for the concise tutorial.
My goal is to have 4 of the 22 LED Strobes (2 high, 2 low), an addressable LED matrix, and a couple of single strips running up each side of the play-field.
I see a lot of people opt for the Teensy boards for this too, is there a discernible difference in capabilities between the two or is just personal preference? I have an IPAC2 in my controller, as well as a Turbotwist, so assuming I can achieve the same results, I would rather stay with GGG.
Thanks!
<edit> After some more research I believe I answered my own question, the Teensy board seems integral to the addressable LED setup.

This is an awesome guide. I'm going through it now and testing it before adding it to the cab. I'm having a problem with the undercab rgb lighting. As Im just testing...Ive got 5m rgb led into a led amp like outline above. I'm using LED blinky to test, and I've got other lights hooked up, beacon, button led light. I can go through each, test on and off and works fine, but it seems if I add them all on at the same time the 5m strip works for a second and seems to blow a fuse. I change the fuse, and if I test just the red, blue or green by itself works fine.
What am I doing wrong here? Thought the led amp would prevent this?!
Thanks.

I have one question to the undercab lighting wiring picture, I built it exactly like that (except one wire) but it´s not working.
I got the 3 wires to the LEDWiz like that, but not the fourth to the power supply, is this really necessary? Could this really be the problem why it´s not working?

of course this is necessary. Else you try to run it without current, which is brought to all color LEDs via the fourth cable.

There is already the red wire from the amp connected to the 12v supply for the current? Or what is it for?
But I´ll give it a try, only one more wire to connect...
@Outhere: I did it exactly like it´s mentioned in mjr´s build guide but it´s not working, so I´m asking here in gtxjoe´s illustration.

Here you see the RGB cable directly soldered to the strip:

RGB and amp connected together, left the white cable unconnected:

the connection in the cab, you see the black and red cable going up-left to the 12V supply and RGB to the LED-Wiz, white and black cable unconnected:

red and black from amp to 12V supply:

You see any problem in this connection? I really don´t know why it´s not working ![]()
Most of the time I´m working on MJR´s plan :

I will take care of the cable management as soon as the LED connection is running.

Take one of the port wires from the ledwiz and hook it to the ground if the light to comes on that color then it should work - if they don't you got Something else going on
You install this DOF

Maybe a bit off topic here.
Is there a way through the script to make the Start button stop flashing or lighting up?
After ball 1 has been played by all players I mean.
Couldnt find that option in the DOF forums or the VPU site.
