Well... here it finally is....

Aliens Legacy (Ultimate Badass Edition) (V1.12) (DOFLinx-Cabinet Edition)

DOFLinx mod by TerryRed

A video demonstration of this table running on a cabinet using DOFLinx can be seen at:

Man, this mod was alot of work, but alot of fun....but only because this table has so many cool modes and features....

You have never seen a Future Pinball table with this kind of feedback and lighting in a cabinet!

I added animated RGB flasher effects for:

-machine gun turret fire

-grenade explosions

-nuclear explosions

-flame thrower

-blow torch

-custom flasher sequences to match those of the table's

-orbit (spinner?) effects

-ship drop sequence

I made use of some combined effects like shaker / blower fan / lights.

Devices supported on this table:

Left flipper

Right flipper

Left slingshot

Right slingshot

Mid field left solenoid

Mid field center solenoid

Mid field right solenoid

Back left solenoid

Back right solenoid

Flasher, outside left

Flasher, inside left

Flasher, center

Flasher, outside right

Flasher, inside right

Blower Fan

Shaker

Gear Motor

Strobe

Beacon

Start button

Coin button

Launch Ball button

FIRE button

RGB Undercab Lighting

I had to use 14 Timers and sub routines to match up some effects with video clips.

The table is a bit hard....but if you can progress, you'll be rewarded with a nice light show and some good feedback.

Let me know how this works out for you guys...and show me some videos of this running in your cabinets! I want to see what these effects look like with a normal 5 rgb flasher bar!

The file is available here:

Edit: I originally forgot to include the required Library files for the table. I've now included them in a DOFLinxv1.1 of the table. Sorry about that.

I'm really unsure about approval on this table. What's slam's mod policy?

Has anyone asked?

I have personally talked with SLAM about DOFLinx modding his tables, and also about having them hosted on other sites, including vpforums.  (I did this before modding his table)

He made it clear that we had his blessing to mod any of his tables (including the newest versions on his web site), and also to host them on any other site (including vpforums).

He is very impressed by what he sees with adding DOFLinx support to his tables...  in fact he has my video demo of the table currently featured on the main page of his web site.

It's all good Noah.

I'm going to try doflinx. I painstakingly in the past go through my FP tables script and add DOF to the script for my lights and toys but as updates come out ialways had to redo them! Hopefully using doflinx will make it easier!

Nice one TerryRed, will be downloading once approved on the site.

Noah - FYI, TerryRed has that permission in writing if required.  TerryRed did this as part of our "due diligence" before starting the mod journey.

Sadly...you will always have to re-add the support in the script to a newer version of the table... this is unavoidable using any system for feedback that isn't controlled by roms.

However....DOFLinx support in the script isn't specific to hardware...so there's no need to change the table at all to get it to work with new controller hardware in the future. Just like DOF, you would only need to update DOFLinx itself. Currently this table would work for anyone using Led-Wiz, Sainsmart, KL25Z, and Pac-Led 64.

I make sure I put a "DOFLinx" comment beside EVERY entry or section in the script that I add. This way if SLAM updates this table in the future, it wouldn't be too difficult to add it in again. I tend to wait a bit after SLAM finishes a major update on a table as he's pretty persistent at following up with killing bugs and adding in new features shortly after.

So since I already have dof working on my FP tables is their a benefit to redoing them with doflinx? BTW I love your cabinet absolutely fantastic!

Maybe, just maybe (if you're on good terms with Slam - and it sounds like you are), you could pass the modified code to back to him so when (if) he updates a table, he could use that to keep the added DOFLinx code intact?

Just an idea. He seems very keen and receptive of DOFLinx... :)

We have discussed and offered to return the modified code to then have one code stream (as we have to all authors).  At preset not happening, which I understand and appreciate fully, but who knows what might transpire in the future.  We'll keep the discussions going and options open.

I guess that would depend on if there is something new you didn't add in before... were you able to use all the same toys and lights.... were you able to fade your lights in and out, etc...

DOFLinx commands are easy to use, and the animated effects I use for RGB flashers are simple enough to add in with Timers and sub routines. Now that I have a bunch made up...I just copy and paste a lot of them in now and edit as needed.

I still have the LED-Wiz tables on my cabinet, as they work fine... but I may one day edit some that I want some extra bling to be added in.

For now, I'm concentrating on newer tables, like SLAM's that have no feedback at all.

Crap.... I didn't inlcude the Library files that came with SLAM's original table download *.zip

Many people probably already had these files, so the table would work fine for them.

For anyone who didn't and the table wasn't working.... sorry about that! I've now inlcuded the required Library files with the table in a DOFLinx v1.1 of the table. It should be available now instead of the version without the files.

Doh!
