Hey all,

Apologies in advance for the silly question and if this has already been answered. I did a search and couldn't find the answer.

How are primitives created and/or defined in VPX? I know the default table when you click new has several to choose from. and the editor options for them don't really allow the shape to be manipulated. Obviously they're useful for cosmetic objects like toys if I can figure out how they're created.

I'm just curious as to how to create my own so I can use them in VPX.

Take Care

You create the model using any 3d editing tool (blender, 3dsmax, mikshape...) and export the model in wavefront obj. In VPX you can also export the whole table model in obj, by clicking on file --->export-->obj mesh

Ninuzzu mentioned Blender, I also want to mention Sketchup... although not sketchup directly, you still need Blender.  And I'm mentioning these simply because they're free.  I mention Sketchup because it's very easy to use as far as creating some basic shapes as well as being super accurate.  So if you have measurements, it's easy to get super precise.  But, then you can only export it as a Collada file (in the free version of Sketchup that is), but then you can import that into Blender and immediately export it as a OBJ (so you don't need to know anything about Blender).

If you want to use a real life object in a table (let's say you want to build a Lego toy, or if you have a real toy from a real table), you can use 123DCatch on your phone to easily make a mesh AND the all important texture.

Bottom line, any program that can make OBJ files.
