What is your favorite PSX game to relive video games past?

If it's not listed, post it here, and I'll add it.

Had a buddy of mine on the USS Kitty Hawk CV-63 that said he had played all the Resident Evil Games and was looking for a new Scary Game. Resident Evil was nothing he said. I let him borrow Silent Hill. He brought the game back to me 2 days later saying "I can't play this game anymore. Its Creeping me out and giving me nightmares." Silent Hill is a great game.

Raiden Project for me. I could play that game all day.

Build a fire, vipers love the heat.

Pro Skater 2. That was one awesome game.

Never really understood the hype about FFVII. Played it and wasn't impressed.

I'm actually playing it now, when I need a break from Fear Effect 2.

Fear effect is probably one of the most underrated games for the PS1. Have a look...

Even though it had it's hang-ups, the first Tenchu Stealth Assassins holds a place close to my heart. Great memories of that one.

Vandal Hearts smile.gif

I could have been something else such as FFVII, had I played it, but as it was I became addicted to Vandal Hearts. Went through it 3 times. The 'arterial spurt' when you knocked someone off was quite outre for its time. Nice plot, music, effects, and game. Too bad about Vandal Hearts II; sad death for the franchise.

Loved the Ambush Scene, it tried your patience to wait for the right moment.

Damn, this is a hard one because all those games are good even the golf game was fun.

I would have to go with Metal Gear Solid.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater the first game as that one had the actual music videos in it of all the groups playing! and Final Fantasy VII no game comes close to beating this one. I had gotten all those damn Chocobos too even the Gold one and ALL the Materia took me many months but it was worth it, of course I had to go and sell the game for $15 now it's worth over $100!
but the music in Final Fantasy Tactics kicks ass especially when it's hooked up in surround sound which that game fully supports

Its worth $100? I still have all the original FF games, cept for FF12, which I didn't like. I'm still trying to find the time to get into FF13 for the PS3, as it actually has some elements of FF7 like the time based turn based stuff. I think xbox kept the game from being GREAT cuz they had to jump in &give the game "consolitis", & the game needed cut & compressed to work better on 360 hardware. If the game would have stayed a PS3 exclusive, it would have come out sooner than it did & likely be better quality.

Ugh, just looked & my FF7 is the "greatest games edition", not as valuable as the original. I even have all the strategy guides. I'm actually playing FF7 again on my samsung galaxy S phone! My how far tech has come over the years! Not the best experience using touchscreen, but if you are on the road or whatever, I can think of worse games to play. BTW, the Pro Pinball games for PSX are perfect for smart phones. I haven't tried them yet.

Anyhow, at this point, & since its the greatest games edition, I doubt I'll ever sell my copy. I'd also never pay $100 for it. That is crazy, that must only be for diehard FF7 fans & collectors. Most people would just buy a used "greatest games" edition for cheaper.
Btw, FF8 and FF9 also very great games. If FF7 hadn't of been the greatest leap of VG technology for its time, & the greatest game of all time just in general... then FF8 and FF9 would have that honor instead. Sure other great games came out for PSX, but you just can't beat what FF7 did. Especially if you look back & realise just how big a game it was at the time. Nobody had ever seen anything like it. To this day its still a very pretty, good looking game in an amazing fantasy world. Even by today's standards.
