File Name: Spy Hunter (Bally 1984)

File Submitter: 32assassin

File Submitted: 02 Jan 2016

File Category: VPX/VPinMAME Recreations

Author(s): 32assassin
Manufacturer: Bally
Year: 1984
Permission to MOD?: Unspecified

this is not a VP(8-9) to VPX port.

this is a complete rebuild,  I stripped the VP9 table down to its basic components rebuilt the script and then
copied and pasted the basic components to a VPX table template.

big thank you to
Francisco666 for his Playfield image

Plastics where completely rebuilt from scans I found on IPDB

Gtxjoe for his helping me build the VP 9.9 version

just one note
lights next to the left slingshot  don't work,  if anyone can identity the Lamp IDs then I can get it to work.

Sharp looking table. Always been a big fan of Peter Gunn.

Is it me or are the main flippers really close together?

Seems the flippers are too big or too close to each other... judging by this picture and the picture of your table. Sorry haven't play it to make a final judgment.

compare to original please: http://www.ipdb.org/...no=17900&zoom=1

Or is my imagination? But I can testify that almost every table from you have this little "problem"... or is just me? Please someone that can confirm or deny my observations?

Thanks for the tables btw. LOVE them all.

Since i did not know where to post this question...i ask it here ;)

In VPX i have the feeling that the ball is going more to the right, even when it should go straight, what could that be? it's nor a special Table, it seems to be at all tables.

It seems to be a problem with my USB-Joypad. Since the table is nugging or thing like that when i use the Pad. I have not disconnect it only uses the Pad a little bit and now it seems to work...strange. Maybe i have to unolug ist...i will have a look...thanks for the tip gtxjoe. Is there a explanation for that bahavior?

Visual Pinball supports nudging using a joystick/accelerometer, so your usb-joypad was not centered and it was constantly telling VP to lean the table to the right.  You can disable this feature, by going to Preferences->Key and uncheck "Enable Analog Nudge"

The table looks and plays awesome. Thank you!

I haven't been able to figure out how to make the ball round on my cab. On this table the ball is oval.  I have the anti-stretch setting enabled just like all of my other tables.  I don't see any references in the script.

I'm sure I'm missing something simple.

EDIT

I appologize for my lack of experience with editing tables in VPX.  I figured it out.

I changed some settings in the Backdrop/FS options.  This made the ball round for me.  I thought I would share my settings.

Inclination 8

FOV 20

Layback 70

XY 270

X scale 1

Y scale 1.3

Z scale 1

X off 20

Y off 0

Z off 0

Thanks

Junky

you are more than welcome to send me a link to the obj or send me a link to the table.

I completely forgot,  but the star triggers are supposed to be button triggers.

they need to be changed now that  VPX 10.1 supports  button type triggers.

that is almost funny to watch,  its almost sad that I loaded and saved this table multiple times when I was adjusting the position of the new mini flipper primitives, and that never happened.  Final save  boom the crap hits the fan without me noticing it.

2.1 is up

32a, thanks so much for your releases and your super cool response to feedback. Your tables are among our family's most played. I was on Blackout tonight for about and hour. Love that one! And I can't get enough of Cosmic Gunfight and your new EATPM. Looking forward to grabbing this update tomorrow.

Also -- thanks so much for the videos laylow. I've watched most of them! Lots of fun.

:D
