On what kind of scale? Different people have different ways, I believe we do need, a section with just complete finished tables. To where you can start and finish all modes. But how would it be implemented? By the author? And if it's not finished, when he thought it was? Would it get a strike of some sort?

In the downloads section already there's a 5 star rating system, you just click the star
ROCK THE VOTE!
No, no strikes - some people don't mind the incomplete tables, they can mess around with them, but ratings and reviews at least warn/advise people of what they're getting into

Well I can't go into to much detail, but a poster who was labeling his, WIP's. As completed tables. Or label his tables something let's say xyz but, not the xyz you would expect. Kind of misleading title. The poster which their was a issue made the changes. I'm not saying they don't have a place, but if it's a mod of something it should be labeled as such. The vpx tables I don't expect to work, I know they are beta's, those author's have been clear about that. The only one I can think of is a Indiana Jones table. And the ball wouldn't shoot up the trough. Also I found other users, had the same problem with it. But I suppose this is to big of a issue. I was thinking having a another author approve, the table complete. Before it get released, as let's say a official version. I'm just brain storming. If you feel, their isn't a issue with broken tables, then so be it. They general consensus is the system works. And if it's not broke, don't fix it. Just add more power!

since you brought up IJ I use the PM5 version and it seems pretty complete and plays well.... that might be just my opinion, because i'm far from an expert...
I kinda think one guys complete is another guys needs work table... I think this is where the "hobby" part comes in, I dont believe this is really the hobby for people that are used to playing freemium games or steam type gaming (not pointing any fingers, just examples).... you have to have the desire to want to not only play the games but , you might need to work for it, to play the tables here... ... I'm not 100% hip to the complete history of v-pinball but it been around for many many years.... from crude almost unplayable tables, to some of the masterpieces created in vp9 and vp10... this includes the devs as well as the authors... so more or less no matter if an author thinks his tables are complete, other guys might DL the table and feel they can tweek it to there liking and feel then its complete... and the cycle will continue...
personally I dont think there is a table I haven't touched in some way... from cleaning the images, adding or adjusting GI light or adding faux GI lighting, to just using someone script... its what makes it a hobby and not just gaming....
who could be appointed to be the "its completed " guy?... who would want or feel they could be that guy??... LOL... plus the volume the forum has at times it's logistically an impossibility....
sometimes leaving well enough alone is the answer...
again this is just my opinion...

I touch ever table I get to my liking. But the point, I was making is if the ball won't even make it out of the trough, then it shouldn't be labled as a complete table. Someone with the know how could fix something like that easily. But if your a noob it can be frustrating. Not knowing where to began to dissect the problem. From your hardware to a script issue. And when you ask for help. You get some arrogant A hole who doesn't really want to help. I would really like for this hobby to catch on. And the more user friendly it is the better.

the big problem with unifying something like VP would be close to impossible... each author has there own techniques to get the final outcome (and would revolt if forced to use a template)... but you are correct when someone not used to this hobby, a "noob" or whatever.... I have a friend that calls it "the black arts"... its when you're new to something but cant seem to get a straight answer.... the most common answer will be to search or the "ya got to play around with it".... the later is more or less the best answer... you have to mess with it all, you will break the table a few time... you will need to DL over and over... but every time it breaks you learn something new.... I have close to zero clue how to code... but can kinda go in and fix what i need or just make it kinda work... so I do understand the frustration.... I came here from using Future Pinball which is much easier to use , you can pop out a few tables a day and make them kinda work and hope someone takes over with coding skills... but after using VP for a while I see the allure being able to use ROM's to control the table how it should be controlled.... but anyway, being 100% user friendly, I cant see it happening... its not going to ever be Pinball Arcade or Pin FX2 (not that it should be) it will never be 100% plug and play

But isn't the part of a community, on a forum. Supposed to be working to the same goal? Near prefect recreations? Pinball arcade sucks i bought a few of their tables, the physics are worst than Future Pinball, not to mention they had a license, begged for money, then give half ass resolution tables. With no cab support. Which makes no sense, they had the chance to hit a homerun, them being the only game in town. But strike out, at a ball 5 feet outside the box. i also bought fx, but they dont come close to real pins. Also Freneticamnseic, if it was a phys mod 5 I don't believe, it was labeled as such.

download these EXE's from MJR.... included will be a VP PM5 exe that will let you use physics mod tables... but both his VP991 and PM5 work great there all i use in my rigs....
ONLY USE THE VP991 AND PM5 EXE FILES... DONT USE OR WORRY ABOUT ANY OF THE OTHER FILES
(every table i run in my cab all 500 tables run perfect with these exe's)

And this is why we have support forums for tables. It wont take long to post a comment noting any issues with a table on there. It would plain to see for anyone downloading a table to let them know what they are getting.

the big problem in the DL area is the "is this file broken" check off.... some people dont understand what it means, it has nothing to do with is the table dosent work to your liking, it to signal that the "file" is broke, like if its corrupted.... not because it doesnt work in someones rig... i've see that happen a few times....
AllKnowing is right... all downloads have 3 areas to express oneself about the table:
1) the 5 star rating system
2) the comment area at the bottom of the download page
3) the support topic tab
