Cavaleiro Negro VP9

Version: 2.0.0
Category: VPinMAME 9.x Recreations

Author(s): jpsalas

Description:
Based on Taito's table from 1981
Ok billyrjse, and to all actually smile.gif, here you have Cavaleiro Negro.
Thanks to destruk for finding all those numbers for the lights, switches and solenoids. Without a manual it should have been an imposible task for me.
I have used the same Black Knight picture for the playfield (kindly supplied by the people at Classic Playfields). But I have only translated a few of the texts.
Since there was no music in the ROM, I have added a few extra sounds, like the ball roll and rubber's hit, which otherwise can't be heard due to the ROM's music and sounds.

Excelent work JP! Great to play. biggrin.gif The table has no music at all. Only some sounds... like when you put credits...then it says: "obrigado" ie "thank you"...."cavaleiro negro ataca" ie "black knight attacks"...."É, mixou" ie a slang - it means: you lost... etc.
I want to thank Destruk for colaboration.

Thank you master JP! tup.gif

You're welcome!

@destruk: I'll include the full apron on all my new tables, since it is easy to move the table down in VP9. In a 4:3 view I prefer to have the flippers as low as posible.

About "Flash Visual Pinball": I haven't a clue. I guess the author will annouce it when it is ready.

Chris,

'FlashVP' is in testing mode ('Monopoly' FS by BBB) and is stress-tested/adjusted at the moment.
'UltraVPServer' is also tested ('SafeCracker' and 'Black Knight') which adds a real Backglass behaviour to VP gameplay! wink.gif

See other threads at this Forum .. smile.gif

Cheers,
FD.

Gaston and I never got multiball to work on this game. Could you find a real machine and see if you get multiball on a real one? It probably has to do with page 3 of the schematics, for the game adjustments, that by default are set to single ball play. I don't know how to turn on multiball capability though - maybe a dipswitch setting or adjustment of some type. "pelo efeito Multibola" whatever that means. http://www.ipdb.org/...matic_Scans.pdf

I was going to check the table again smile.gif It is good to know the neither you or Gaston got the multiball working. I though I had wrote something wrong in the script (it shouldn't had been the first time smile.gif )

Let us know billyrjse if the multiball is working on a real table. If it does maybe destruk will find a way to get it working on VP too smile.gif

Ok Destruk. I see that there are different versions (3 or 5 ball) of this machine and some people comment in posts what you said. Some people tell that multiball was removed from the machine when converted from black knight to CN. I saw another post that says that the 3 ball version of CN has multiball. I sincerily, do not know. I'll search more information about and try some game adjust as you said.
Anyway thanks for your support...

Have a long time ago that i played in a CN true machine . I thought that it had a multiball. I saw a post that only the version with 3 balls (very rare here) has multiball. Now I will search a consistent information about.
Greetings JP

There are three roms for this game. I have used only the name of the main rom.
Download the other alternative roms from here http://www.ipdb.org/...ine.cgi?id=4568 and copy them to your rom folder.
Then change the line 43:

Const cGameName = "cavnegro"

to

Const cGameName = "cavnegr1"

or

Const cGameName = "cavnegr2"

and let see how they work. I'm a terrible player so I guess you'll be able to test it much faster than me.

Terrible player, are you? rofl.gif I don't believe! But a great tables builder! I will test this roms... but I talk with a friend especialist in taito pinball machines... He said that rom (that do multiball) was lost and will be very very difficult to find that. Let me see if he's right. wink.gif
Thanks JP

I have tested with the other 2 roms and nothing... I think my friend maybe is really right. whtflag.gif

But I have a closed version of Cavaleiro Negro (beta 2) by DOX & MALOTI where multiball starts 2 and 3 ball. I can't see the table opened on VP neither script. Destruk, I think you partcipate of construction of this table too. Do you know something? Thanks!

greetings

Since the table is locked, then it must be the VP only table, without using the real rom. I don't know anything about the table, but it is a VP only table and everything is done with the script, so the authors added the mutiball to the script. I can't do much with that table.

No problem JP! I am very happy with this table (JP quality of course smile.gif ) with or without multiball. I'm having fun a lot. This table is one of my favorites along with MM, AFM and Elvira Scared Stiff. By the way, is there any chance to see Scared Stiff in VP9 release? I really like playing your+highrise version (very good table), but sometimes the ball pass through the flipers during the game. This is a VP8 bug I believe. A little detail I know.
Thanks a lot!!
