After reading alot on here and not getting much in the way of answers i wanted, i decided to just jump in.

some black friday deals:

finally today after 3 hours of reading and adjusting got visual pinball/pinmame working somewhat. ive downloaded t2 and adams family, got them playable but dmd kinda goes wherever it wants and no back glass.

Yeah, getting it set up can be a pain, but it all is reasonably straightforward once you've got

your displays setup correctly in windows & vp. If you got a few tables installed and playable it's

just repetitive from there for every new table.

But, hey, you're playing Pinball on your own machine  :dblthumb:

Good point. But some more pointers in obvious places would have saved 5 hours of reading, and I still have a 40% fail problem.

What are your plans for restoring the cabinet itself?

I recently began my project with a cabinet that was less than pristine.  Perhaps my thread can help point you in the right direction when you’re doing touchups on the cab:

http://www.vpforums....showtopic=29930

And you’re absolutely right. There should be more sticky threads with links to resources and tutorials. I spend countless hours looking for info.

Have you been tweaking your monitor resolutions? I've been swapping out monitors and trying to find their resolution "sweet spots" along the way. Every time I change the resolution, the dmd moves. That could be your problem.

I'm honestly not going to fix the cabinet. I like the ratty look.

I've not done much over the holidays, just played some tables.

B2s plays fine, db2s crashes on exit. 9.15. 9.91 won't even load without crashing, guess I can't be too mad, I'm now remembering why I hate windows lol.

Even tried pinballx 915 crashes on exit too.

Yay.

I don't know about yours but My system would not run the cabinet version of  VpinMame together with Visual Pin 9.9.1 reguardless what I did. I'm running 9.9.0 and everything worked fine.  since then I have started using a modded version of VPinMame obtained elsewhere and I haven't used 9.9.1 yet with that.

I suspect maybe a lot of folks here are using the other VPinMame and it is working with 9.9.1 so no one is complaining about compatibility issues,,,, but that is just a guess as I have not went back to 9.9.1 yet after changing to a different cabinet version of VPinMame.   Cant say more as I don't want to break any forum rules maybe  someone higher up can elaborate as I'm not sure what is ok to say yet about other sites.
