File Name: Magic (Stern 1979) Desktop VP9.9

File Submitter: mfuegemann

File Submitted: 23 Sep 2014

File Category: VPinMAME 9.x Recreations

Author(s): mfuegemann
Manufacturer: Stern
Year: 1979

Media Pack: Link to Media Pack
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

This is Magic by Stern, Desktop edition.

I did a new playfield redraw based on photos provided by Noah. As there was no proper documentation availiable, I had to fiddle out all the lamp numbers manually. I did watch gameplay videos and repeated the switch sequences until the lit lights matched the real table. Destruk's lights.vpt table was a great help there.
Again I added the DIP switch code provided by Inkochnito. You can access it via the standard F6 key.

The backdrop image is once again the one provided by Bolt some tables ago.

Have fun and please use the support topic to post any findings and suggestions.

Thanks for the table.  How hard is it to add some ball rolling and impact sounds?  Feels a little empty without that.  It also seems the right bumper at the top doesnt react when the ball hits it from below.

Hi wangho,

I will check this out. I think I raised the Hit Threshold a bit (but for all Bumpers), maybe too much.

Regards

Michael

Really nice table....maybe abit to fast for beeing an oldie table, but i like that kind of challenge aswell.....so 313340 is my best after four plays.
Ok...i know i can change the speed of it, but i don't like to change the authors settings.

Yeah your right Zany... I played it a bit more on cab and me too I feel the speed a little bit to high especially when the ball drop down or hit sling but nothing dramatic I thing that some minor adjustment will make this table another favorite in my oldie table list  ;)..... As a fan of tables from 70' and 80'  it's not hard to get me happy. :D  Life is simple PINBALL + BEER(S :D)  + FRIENDS and the rest I don't care LOL ;P
