Seeing as Unit 3D is physx based would it be worth trying a dedicated physx card in my rig?

At present I've got a core I5 2500K over clocked, 16GB ram, GTX 760 and I still struggle to hit 60 FPS.

I've got a spare gtx650ti sitting around which I could use but I recall reading that unit 3D had issues with multiple video cards.  Is this still the case?

I'm using I7-3930k with 2 video card "GTX 680" for playfield only and older "9800 GT" for Back Glass and DMD and all work fine. exception of only 2 or 3 table only with VP table that give barely noticeable struggle for example "Ironman"

I guess the issues are only there if you use two cards to render the image, if you use the second one only for physics you should be fine.  You could also test if you get more fps if you let your CPU calculate the physics. The option for it is in the Nvidia control center.

Is AMD unsupported?

AMD is supported. Without a Nvidia card your CPU just calculates the physics, like in many other games.

The more recent releases have drastically improved my framerate now anyway.

I'm seeing 85+ FPS on all tables on the 760 only.  Might be worthwhile trying on a system with a weaker GPU and or CPU - AMD could potentially run a Nvidia card for dedicated physx and use a program like hybridz to get it working.  Would be completely new waters though and probably not really worth it.
