Grand Slam 4Player (Bally)(1984)(chinzman93)(1.0)(FS)(9.2+)

Grand Slam - Bally 1983
Orig. Design: Greg Kmiec
Orig. Art: Doug Watson

This is a recreation of Bally's Grand Slam from 1983 (4 player version).
Complete rebuild of the table including a redraw of the plastics and playfield.
One of 2 tables to use fly away targets (Speakeasy is the other).

Special Thanks:
JPSalas for supplying me with a primitive target demo which eventually allowed me to use primitives for the
fly away targets. It was very helpful.
Koadic for the blue post primitives.
Eala for his toolbox loaded on VPF.
All the other authors, dev's, and other contributors to the community.

Please report any issues to the support topic. A Desktop version will be coming in a couple of days.

This table was built with versions of 9.2 and DX9.

Thanks!

Nice table! I see you managed to make those fly targets, and they work very well :)

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I have been made aware of 1 bug (switch 1 - the H on the HOMER target) that I will upload a fix for along with DOF script changes supplied by arngrim.

Yes, I like how they came out. Thank you very much for the demo of the target. It made things much clearer on how these work.  :)

Yes, that will be addressed in an update. I put in the 2p rom to test and forgot to pull it. It does seem to work ok though and I think the only db2s available is for 2p. Up to you I guess.

Cool table - i really like the pitching and batting mechanic! I have a couple graphics glitches on my table:

- the R flyaway target is half cut off ie only half the target appears and looks cut in half at a 45 degree angle.

- The ball sits on top of the small batting flipper when it is trapped or playing.

- the standard main flipper rubbers were transparant. I changed the rubber colours to red though and they stayed solid.

my info: Am running Win 7, latest 9.2.1 and a 2GB 660 GTX

Thanks for any advice or help as I like this table the flyaway target are cool !

I will take a look at this in the next day or so. Unfortunately, we are having a minor disaster at work. Thanks for reporting the issues.

I had the cut off targets and the transparent flippers when I was messing around with the BG and kept starting and stopping the table without shutting down VP.  After restarting VP it was fine.  This has happened with various other tables too. I think it's more of a memory leak with windows.

Thanks for the table, excellent work and a lot of fun to play (and I don't even like baseball :D)

I noticed two things: according to this video, the upper flipper is supposed to be operated with the left button, not the right as it is now. Also, the top rollover lane lights should be changed with the right flipper which doesn't happen in this recreation.

To switch to have the top flipper work off the left flipper button switch the red text in the example from the RIGHT FLIPPER to the LEFT FLIPPER as shown.

Sub SolLFlipper(Enabled)
    If Enabled Then
       PlaySound "GSFlipperUp":LeftFlipper.RotateToEnd:Flipper3.RotateToEnd
    Else
       PlaySound "GSFlipperDown"
          LeftFlipper.RotateToStart:Flipper3.RotateToStart
    End If
End Sub

Sub SolRFlipper(Enabled)
    If Enabled Then
       PlaySound "GSFlipperUp":RightFlipper.RotateToEnd
    Else
       PlaySound "GSFlipperDown"
       RightFlipper.RotateToStart
    End If
End Sub

Thank you, I'm looking forward to the updates.

One more thing... not sure if this is controlled by the ROM or the script, but sometimes it seems to be way too easy to get an extra ball. I mean, it happened to me several times that practically the first scoring touch by the ball awarded 'SHOOT AGAIN'. Don't know if that's the way it is supposed to work or not.

Hi I'm having the same graphic issues. For me shutting down and restarting VP does not help. Restarting my PC completely doesn't help either.

Great table though. My son is trying baseball for the first time this year so it's getting lots of playtime here :)

Hmm, I'm not to good figuring out graphics problems as I have been really lucky in that regard and have really not had any.

Do you have problems with any other tables , if so, I would check my settings in VP and possibly look at updating you video driver.

If it's only with this table, I would check with CJS, and see if he found out anyting about his problem.

Also you might try a different version of VP to see if it might be caused but the version you have. I'm running 9.9.0 without the issue.
