Considering there are already threads about FXAA and VP, here we can share our opinions regarding the installation of SweetFX in VP (dx9 only), issues, suggestions etc...

SweetFX is a universal image improvement and tweaking mod, that works with almost any 32-bit DirectX 9, 10 or 11 game or application.

If you want to get it work in VP, download the latest version here: http://s.dropcanvas....weetFX 1.5.1.7z

Then, extract the files, copy them all in the "tables" directory of VP, then copy the d3d9.dll and d3d9.fx files in the main one, where the .exe is.

To change settings, go to "SweetFX_settings" text file. To uninstall it, just delete all the files.

SweetFX doesn't cause any blinking since it just uses post-processing filters like FXAA and SMAA, and its performance is better than other types of aa. The quality is very good too (especially with SMAA, which is not blurry like FXAA) and customizable. The only issue I've encountered is with the sound. Tell me if you have the same problem.

Can you compare the max/avg frame times with and without SweetFX?

What kind of sound has issues, table sounds, VPM sounds, or all?

I have no problem with the sound, the best thing whith sweetfx for me is the hdr filter. With that filter on for me get vp look more like a real pinball machine. Love it :)

Maybe it's my weak video card. Krille, what's yours? To me, the problem is just the rom music that sometimes repeats itself.

Ok? Wierd. I didn't have so much problem with vp at all. Maby i'm a lucky one :) i have a wide cab 46, 32, 19 with full ledwiz card with dof. Intel quad 3,2 @ 4,2 8gb xms ram nvidia gtx660 gainward for pf, dmd. Old nvidia card for backglass. Sonund from motherboard. Win 7 x64 ultimate. I use all cpucores, no setafinity. I think the high cpu clock solves much for me, no stutter at all. :)

So Test9 is worse than Test7? In what sense?

Tried test9 on monster bash killer edition but the ramps where grey/white , i read you have to change the transparacy or something in VP but i still didn't looked at it or figured it out.

No sound issues/stutter with Test7, i'll report test9 when i played more tables.

Anyone have any reccomended settings for Sweet and test9?  As far as I know I have sweet working with test9 but I'm not noticing and changes in graphics or function.

Settings where? Do you change the rows in right sweetfx_settings file. You have to use the file in the tablefolder, a good tip is to use monocrome filter. You have to restart the actually table before you can see the change. Good luck

Almost the same setup as krille81 exception of the GTX 680 for me and no problem at all the only weird problem encountered for me so far is the X-MEN tables and ball freez in right ramp apart from that all running well and I really like the DX9 version and hopefully they will push on this side for future version ;)

With the latest drivers (335.23) the audio problem seems solved, only taf still has some doubled sound, but the rest are ok.

This version looks even better:

http://ge.tt/4CpDyZt/v/0

you don't need to place any file in the "tables" folder, just the main one.

This version also works with Unity3D Pinball, just disable the in-game aa first.
