So I just bought my very first pinball machine this weekend. I gave a grand for an amazing looking PIN BOT machine. I cleaned all of the solenoids, will be replacing all of the rubbers and changing out the bulbs to leds (ordered and on the way from cointaker.com). The game plays great for about 45 minutes and then all of the displays on the back board go out and you can't play anymore. The lights on the play field are still on and the sound is still going, but the ball will not eject to the shooting lane. What could be causing this to happen? Please help... If you let it sit for a little while with the power off then turn it back on then it works for another 30 to 40 minutes.. I am so lost.

I am no expert but to me it sounds like a overheating power supply? I would start looking in that area.
Someone else please correct me as again I am not an expert hust speaking from very little experience
It looks great btw good buy

It may help if you post your location, maybe there is someone local that could give you a hand.

I'm no expert either, but I agree that the power supply / transformer will probably have to be replaced, if both the displays and solenoids are shutting down.
My first (and only) machine was a Pin-Bot as well, purchased very cheaply. But it was no bargain, considering its condition. I dismantled the playfield and cleaned all the plastics with Novus, put in new rubbers (black), changed out all the bulbs and replaced the display board. It played perfectly, but after a year I sold it, to build a full-size VP cab in its place.
And your spiral ramp is missing the top corner, same as mine was. I fixed that by drilling and epoxying a couple of posts into the floor of the ramp, forming some epoxy putty over them, then painting it in.

How many power supplies does this machine use?

If only one, but the lamps and sound remains the transformer cant be the fault?

Sounds more like a cpu board fault? Processor overheating.

Definitely some thing is over heating!

you can get LED displays and then you don't need the high voltage any more.
