Future Pinball works pretty well on Windows 8.1, but the little images that show which texture or model you have selected doesn't appear. I've tried running it in Windows XP (Service Pack 2) with Administrator rights, but it still won't work. Any suggestions?

I am having almost the same problem. The models are not loading properly.  Example pic1..No flippers..Pic2 Flippers loaded. There are no error messages, and the table will not play. Using windows 8.1 with Administrator rights, still wont work.. If I reset the machine they load 1rst time, but after that it's inconsistent.

I don't get any of this problem on win 8.1.

Mine's set to run compatibility for win7 and run as admin.

I don't get it. Those are the same settings I have. I will have to futz around with the video prefrences and see if that will do any good.

I do have this problem currently. Is there any way to fix this by now? There are no preview images appearing at all, neither 3d models nor textures. Its just shows a circle with a diagonal line in it.

I am running Windows 8.1 - I have tried Compatibilty for Windows 7 and XP, this did not help. I am also running FP as Administrator, I can't figure out how to solve this.

Any help?

Did any of you ever figure this out?  I'm new to FP and using Win 7 Home Premium and it doesn't load the objects.  Just the "no" symbols.  Did you just give up?

I had the same problem on windows 7. The problem solved when I run the program "As administrator"

( I don;t konw if it matters, but I have installed both Future Pinball and BAM, you can download it from here :

If running "as administrator", and the problem insists, then try this"
Go to Preferences / Editor options  and check the "load image into table editor". Then press ok

That usually crashes FP for me

It is not a Windows compatibility thing.  FP performs best when playing a table if the "Load image into Table Editor" option is unchecked.  It is an option in the editor on the "Preferences" > "Editor Options" menu.  You have probably had many people tell you to uncheck that option because it requires a lot of memory and can make a table crash if you play the table when it is checked.  ...But if you want to see images in the editor, this option must be checked.  If it is currently unchecked (as I am sure is your current status), you have to check the option, completely close out FP and then open the table in the editor again then the images will appear.  You didn't discuss it but there is is an options on the right pane for the table named "Display Playfield Image in editor" and several table objects have an option "Display top image in editor".  These options are handy if you develop a table so you can place objects correctly on the playfield.  The "Load image into Table Editor" option must be checked for these options to work also.  Some models have a preview and the same option needs to be checked to see the preview.

Once you have finished viewing the images and models in the editor, you need to uncheck "Display top image in editor" and close FP then open FP again to play a table.  If you don't, you can have FP crash unless you have a great deal of available memory.
