I have looked through the forums and found no real info on how to configure VP to work with the x arcade controller.

Every time I hit the paddle buttons on the site for the flippers, it also gives credits.  I want to keep the actual X arcade set to default because I have built an arcade cabinet.

How do I change the credit function to a different key.  What files do I have to edit because when I change it in the key config per table it registers the button change but it does not work while the game is running...  I'm thinking it has to with Vpinmame..

Thanks for your time, suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I have an X-Arcade on my mame cabinet, but I never setup VP on it because I built a dedicated cabinet for it. I think you can use something like X-Pader to remap the keys and setup a profile, but I am not for sure how that is done. You may want to try over on their forums to see if some has done something similar. Since they put the buttons on the side like that, I assume some people do this but I never saw the need to try. Wish I could provide more help. I think the X-Arcade is great for the money, for golden tee in particular. Hope you get it figured out.

Another thought would be that you could use the X-Arcade documentation to see what the buttons are mapped to on the keyboard and then change the key assignments in VP to match what you want for your controller. In VP (at least 9.15), I believe this is under preferences, keys...in VP

Good Luck!

VPinMAME tables also utilize the VPMKeys.vbs file for key assignments (included in the required VBS Scripts package),.but you can replace the values to match your controller. To find the keycodes, there are a couple different ways to go about it... one way is a table file that shows the keycode for the button you are pressing, which a link can be found for HERE

The X-arcade uses the same key code configuration as the old Hanaho HotRod joystick. The same solution works for the X-arcade:

http://hotrod.mamewo...o/problems.html

It's the last tip "can't map the coin1 - coin2 buttons to left & right flippers in VPinMAME"

The script to modify is VPMkeys.vbs, I think.

If you can't get it, just PM me. I can send you my modded script file.

Hi, guys-

*If your X-Arcade continues to make coin sounds regardless of any VBS tweaks, try this.*

I'm on VPX and facing the same general problem (x-arcade drops coins every time you hit either flipper). I've changed keys in the VBS but it persists. Funny thing is that, even if I assign VPX's flippers to different buttons on the x-arcade than the side buttons (which make the most sense for pinball), it continues to drop coins. It's like VPinMAME is following it around somehow. Anyway, here's the configuration that finally works for me. I simply reassigned VPX's mappings like this. It keeps the flippers on your physical side buttons, puts the coin and start on some weird buttons on your X-Arcade but knocks out that infuriating coin sound I was getting with each flip. I hope this helps someone else out there who, like me, is frustrated and doesn't know much about the details of configuring this thing. Thanks!
