I'm still learning VP, so forgive me if this all sounds foolish or nonsensical. Also, forgive me for the length of this note. I don't know what facts may or may not be relevant.

I downloaded and attempted to install several VP9 tables on my Windows 8 64 bit pc. The first two, Eight Ball, Deluxe and Medieval Madness, were recognized by the software and played (though I can' t get MM music and voices to play very loudly). The next one, Elvis for VP9, was initially recognized, but after I clicked play, I got a message that said something like "table did not completely load." The table came up properly rendered, but when I I tried to start it, nothing happened. I then downloaded the table and ROMs for The Simpsons Pinball Party, but could not get the software to recognize it at all. I tried playing 8BD and Medieval Madness again, and they were fine, but I couldn't get any additional tables to be recognized. I tried deleting the table and ROM for Elvis, but it continued to show up in the software, although, of course, it didn't play. I then uninstalled the software altogether, reinstalled it, and tried to reload Elvis. This time around, it didn't even get recognized, and none of the tables that were previously playable got recognized when I tried to reinstall them. I again uninstalled the software, deleted Elvis, and installed Eight Ball Deluxe, Medieval Madness, and The Simpsons Pinball Party, all of which played okay. Redownloading and reinstalling Elvis didn't fix the problem. I then decided to forget about Elvis for the time being and attempted to install Lord of the Rings. That table behaved precisely the way Elvis did, and caused the same problem with subsequent attempts to add tables. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software yet again as well as the three "good" tables and am thoroughly enjoying them for now, though very puzzled by my situation. Following the VP Forum installation instructions, I have consistently run the VP software in compatibility mode and as an administrator. I have tried running the PinMAME setup exe in all the various compatibility and administrator configurations, but that hasn't fixed anything. Since many others are playing both Elvis and Lord of the Rings and rating them very highly, I have to conclude that I'm doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You installed the latest VP (9.1.5 with FreeImage.dll (3.15.4.0) )?

Hello TTrenkner---Wish I could help you get those tables running, but I have not idea what could be wrong. I can , however, make a comment about the volume level that you are missing. Most tables, I find, need to get a volume boost. Some can be done simply by pushing the 8 or 9 key---or is it 7 and 8? Well one or the other. Also some tables you might need to get into the table through opening the coin door (the end key), There are tutorials that will help you as well with your volume issue. Good luck. Hope you sort it out quickly. There are so many fun tables to play!

Thank you GSGregg and BobAlbright for your suggestions. I'll confirm that I've done those things correctly. In any event, I'm thrilled to have the tables that do work. I used to have Eight Ball Deluxe and Pin Bot machines, and this is almost like having them back, but with many more choices and a lot less maintenance.

>>I have tried running the PinMAME setup exe in all the various compatibility and administrator configurations>>.....tt, i installed "pinmame25" zipped folder first into Cdrive "programfiles" with the VPinstaller folders and 91x.... then open "VisualPinmame setup" exec from Cdrive....open "setup" then do  the paths.....if you want you can copy/paste the 3-43 vbsscripts into the table folders.....

i run comp mode in XP in my win7...works fine.

after installing 91x right click on the silver ball...send to----->desktop for the shortcut.

Thanks again to those of you who offered suggestions.  So far, I haven't been able to solve my problem. Maybe I'll try another reinstall.

darn, win8 again.....win8 is a beast.....just another suggestion......

vista, win7 and win8 need alot of RAM.....there will be problems if you dont have 4g or more of high speed ddr3 1333 or 1600 for this.....

delete the 91x ball on desktop to  cancel the "run as admin"......create a new shortcut again to desktop......i dont use "run as admin".....i disable UAC(user account control) in my win7.....disable or move it to the lowest level.....

stay with it.....there is a learning period for a awhile....you"ll get better.
