File Name: Centaur_(Bally)_(1981)_VP916
File Submitter: fuzzel
File Submitted: 12 Jul 2013
File Category: VPinMAME 9.x Recreations
Author(s): Fuzzel
Lord Hiryu
Manufacturer: Bally
Year: 1981
ROM: Link to ROM
Media Pack: Link to Media Pack
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

A new mod based on Lord Hiryu's table.
What was changed:
- nearly everything ;)
- playfield and lightning from the Centaur Ultra 1.04 FP table by Light66/Slamt1lt
- plastics/GI's reworked to fit the new layout
- alpha ramp plunger added
- JimmyFinger's ball rolling code
- improved primitive scripted based on Unclewilly's BBB version
- B2B added
- dipswitch menu added
- all drop targets are new 3D mesh primitives
- bumper caps are new 3D mesh primitives

Because of the 3D meshes you need at least VP9.16 Beta rev.608+ to play this table.

I haven't found the root of that...It's a rom setting that forces that

I tested your desktop version 5 times. Everthing is OK to me. I play with VP 617 and no 2.nd ball problem.

@Pin-Pete: Delete your Centaur vram, maybe it works?

But only one thing is wrong.

Bonus points at every start of a new ball.

100.000 Points at start Ball 1

50.000 Points at start Ball 2

50.000 Points at start Ball 3

I tested the old Centaur VP8 version from PacDude and here is this not.

I hope you have a good advice for me.

regards

@bolt:Deleting of nvram seems to have done the trick. :)

looked at the script and fount the swPlunger error.

simple mistake

find the plunger init part of the script.

looks like this:

'Impulse Plunger
'--------------------
Set plungerIM = New cvpmImpulseP
With plungerIM
.InitImpulseP swPlunger, IMPowerSetting, IMTime
.Switch 20
.Random 1.5
.InitExitSnd "plunger2", "plunger"
.CreateEvents "plungerIM"
End With

Now comment out the line

.Switch 20

by placing a ' in front of it or just delete the line altogether

switch 20 is actually the standup target at the top of the inline targets, so everytime the ball is in the plunger lane it registers a hit on that target.

when you comment or delete the .switch 20 line all is fixed

"it will all be ok in the end, if it's not ok, it's not the end"

Thank you, the table is very beautiful.
Above the right bumper , there is a small graphical problem.

The X Offset is 20 instead of 0, I do not think it's something desired.

Great table, thanks. I have noticed an odd behaviour, though. I have played the table twice and one time in each game the ball would be moving in toward the flippers then suddenly shoot upwards.  Has anyone else experienced this?

You should try this one: http://www.vpforums....topic=24946&hl=

It's the FS version but check the table information there you will find the desktop backdrop settings. This version is a much more advanced version of the table ;)
