File Name: Cactus Canyon (High Noon Night Mod)(Desktop)
File Submitter: Aaron James
File Submitted: 18 Jun 2013
File Category: VP/VPinMAME 9.x - MOD Tables
Author(s): Lord Hiryu, MRCMRC, Sheltemke, Aaron James, Kodiac, The Wool, Grizz
Manufacturer: Williams
Year: 2013
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

Hello VP community,

1st and foremost, let me say thanks to the ones who gave me permission to mod this great table : Lord Hiryu, MRCMRC, Sheltemke.
I also want to thank epthegeek for contribution. Of course I want to thank JP Salas for helping me with my question along the way, and for his work with the original.
Without them, this table would not have been possible for me to do.
I have a great appreciation for how they all contributed to put this table together. Cheers gentlemen!

For this mod, I also want to thank The Wool, Grizz, and Kodiac. It was awesome to see this community "chip in" and do such an amazing job on this classic table!

Changes that have been made to the table:

- most playfield / table images modified.
- physics changed
- all lights/lamps had to be reshaped in VP editor.
- tons of other stuff I just can't think of, but that took me forever to do....lmao
- new alpha ramp plunger (Kodiac)
     - he helped put the entire code in the script for me, and JP for helping direct me in the right way.
- New alpha ramp flashers (The Wool)
- darkened the off lights, brightened the on light, to make them stick out more (The Wool)
- added some false light effects to the ramp plastics (The Wool)
- new ramp and borded texture (The Wool)
- New apron/wheel logos/static backglass (Grizz)
- I wanted to change the ball size, but if you go any larger, it will get stuck up above Bart, so I don't recommend it.
- I know I'm forgetting some minor things, but who cares...just play the damn table already! ;-)

I hope everyone enjoys this, as a lot of hours went into the making of this mod.
Who knows.....maybe we might see a night mod db2s backglass for this table.....

All the best,
Aaron James

Strange that no one had given some feedback on this great table..the only thing i don't like is the view/angle..table is too much away from the player..best view for me is for example JP's tables..tables look much closer..  is this adjustable?

Thanx!

I rarely play the desktop versions. But yes, I noticed this as well.
It is kind of skinny looking and seems to head off into the distance up top.

Yea sorry guys, I don't play these desktop versions. The reason I made it the inclination I did is because any more inclination the alpha ramp flashers get distorted. This table was truly meant for full screen., and the desktop version suffers. :-/

Hey all,

if someone posts the ideal desktop settings I'll resize the flashers to suit.

Cheers!  :drinks:

I tried making the inclination originally 46 as well ironically.
If the wool can adjust properly, it's gonna look amazing.

Updated to 1.2

The Wool did an awesome job and changed the layout for the desktop version. It looks alot better now :)

I kept both versions up for download just in case.

The correct file to download is : Cactus_Canyon_(HIGH_NOON_NIGHT_MOD)_WS_VP916_1.1 flash fix.rar

yes..i should have changed it to 1.2

Thanks for the nice Cactus Wallpaper. The only one that I miss are the metal Border.

Bolt. How do we get that look?

It is much better with the metal rails and cabinet sides.

No longer floating in space.

I think you could just download the second image in his post and replace the backdrop image in the table editor with it.
