File Name: Robocop FS GI Darkmod

File Submitted: 16 Mar 2013
File Category: VP 9.x MOD Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)
Author(s): JPSalas
Mistermixer
Rosve
Herweh
Flying Dutchman
Manufacturer: Data East
Year: 1989
Permission to MOD?: Unspecified

This version is a FS remake from JPSalas desktop 5.0 version ( VP7 ). Thanx JPSalas for your releasepermission !

So after a couple of years from the initial release this FS version is ready to be loaded into your cabinet. Lots of hours
were spend in updating the table from VP7 to VP9 . ( For example a flasher those days was progged as a bumper )

More work done :

- added General Illumination ( combination of rom and script )
- new  images ( flashers, ball ,plunger, bumpers ...)   all darkened
- new lamps and lights
- updated the flippersdesign (with Data East logo )
- redrawn the rightramp
- more sounds added
- script optimalisation

Also thanx to  - all testers and their feedback !
                       - Flying Dutchman ( upcoming uvp )
                       - Herweh ( upcoming B2S )

If you have the 'ledwiztool' installed (by Rosve) try the 'Robocop FS GI Darkmod ledwiz' version
Bumper - slingshot - gate forrcefeedback and even your shakermotor is activated !

Enjoy playing !

I've been waiting for somebody to VP9 this table!  I'm only on desktop though :(  Will you be converting this to desktop?  Looks like it would only take a few minutes, but if you can't maybe I can eventually get around to doing it for you.  Since JP's original table was desktop, I think it would only be fitting to get that version of this out there too.

Thank you, nice to see this in a VP version.

My formatting / layback settings are: 5/25/75/270/1.34/2.1/-390/59

Interestingly, the flippers reminded me of the Future Pinball flippers... :D

So I simply copied the flipper physics settings from jpsalas' Attack From Mars: 0.275/0.55/0.5/0/0.06/25/2/4.5

I'm sure some tuning would help, but these work OK for now.

OK I'll check it out.  Btw, you don't have to be into desktop play to do a quick conversion, just so you know.  Have you tried to do it?  I don't play in FS but it only takes a few minutes to create a basic FS version, so I do it.  Its fine if you don't, but I'm just wondering if new authors might think it is more difficult to do than it actually is.  Or if they even try to do it.  Just curious because I'm wondering if there needs to be a guide created to show people how.

Does anyone know how to get this working with 9.15 without the flippers dissappearing?

If you are having issues, you might need to delete the ledwiztoolbox.vbs file located in your tables folder if it exists.

nice one, right in the cab !

but surelly too easy to play (almost in VP) ... just tried 1 game, and did round the clock already

strange freegame is at 2.400.000, and you "can't" score more than 9.999.990

Aliens 2, Area 51, Asterix, Bally Tribute, ET, Evel Knievel, Frontier, Galaxian, Inspector Gadget, Lilo & Stitch, Looney Tunes, Lost World, Mata Hari, Night Mission, Power Play, Rayman, Rolling Stones 2, Stalker, Santa Odyssey, Tempest, Timon & Pumbaa, Williams Tribute, World Cup 2002, Zombie

Tanx to (alphabetical order) : BLACK, CUTTER, DESTRUK, EALA, JP, JOE ENTROPY, KINSEY, KRISTIAN, LOSERMAN, LUVTHATAPEX, RANDY, SCAPINO, SHIVA, STRANGELEO (hope i did not forget someone... )

Yes,after reaching a score of + 9.999.990 , it will start again from zero. This is a rom based issue we can't adjust.

But there are multiple options that makes the game harder :

  1  in the dmd menu you can install the hard rules

  2  the table has this nice feature to jump from the right to the left ramp : if this shot is too easy you'll score a lot of points

      and reaching a very high score. JPSalas progged a 'speed' switch at the right ramp. This is controlled by the script

      and can be adjusted by entering 2 values . Now it's -25 and -26 if i remember good.  Advice : look it up in the script and

      experiment a bit by changing those numbers, for example -20,-20

 3  By hitting F6 you can change the rewarded extra balls in the options menu

Nice to hear u like the table :-)

I am using UVP. When I use the backglass with the speakers, the scores are out of alignment with the backglass, but the table plays fine. When I use the backglass without the speakers, the BG gets distorted looking than an image of papa smurf (no BS) appears near the upper right corner of the backglass, the dreaded blue screen screen comes on for half a second than my system crashes and restarts. I am using windows xp. 270 drivers. Anyone else have this happen or can someone tell me why this is happening?

BTW very cool table!

Quit talking and start chalking!

I have been messing with this mod for a couple days now racking my brains on how to make it play just a little more realistic (at least how I remember it from the arcade)

 ---> especially the right "police" ramp.

The ball should never be able to always jump successfully, nor should it be able to never jump successfully (crash).

I have some settings that may make this game play a little bit better for some of you. Some of you may prefer the original settings. To each their own.

With these settings, you'll make the shot about 50% of the time, which is how it really should play  :dblthumb:

Lemme know what you guys think!  :shutup:

Gravity Constant = 1.6774

Contact Friction  =  .0025

Constant Scatter Angle = .5

Dampening Speed = 75

Dampening Friction = .95

Slope Min & Max Difficulty = 6.5

FLIPPERS

Speed = .25

Strength = .5

Elasticity = .45

Scatter Angle = 0

Return Strength = .07

Recoil Velocity = 25

Power Law = 2

Oblique Correction = 4.5

Then, change ball speed to -30,-31

-->

  2  the table has this nice feature to jump from the right to the left ramp : if this shot is too easy you'll score a lot of points

      and reaching a very high score. JPSalas progged a 'speed' switch at the right ramp. This is controlled by the script

Thanx Aaron , i didn't adjust JPSalas settings ( and i never played the real one ). But with the knowledge, experience from you we can play this game as close as the real pin.    It's a big difference in speed and gravity but hell yeah i like it !
