I'm recreating ToM pinball game. It's highly likely I'm not going to finish it.
Anyway, I need a redrawn playfield image of this machine, ToM? Eh.. Do anyone know or have this image which I can get...?
Any help appreciated.

You could ask nicely and use the images used to create the VP version.
Any table created in VP can be created in FP using the same resources. Must ask permission though.
And vice-versa of course. So where are the VP versions of Iron Man, Family Guy, Transformers.....etc, etc.. The resources are there so go make 'em.

images being the only thing these two programs have in common
it's no wonder than that no one has made vp versions of these pins
and if it's just the play field pic that you are gonna' be using
there is really no need to ask permission since it is just an image
but if you are talking about redoing the entire pin
than yes you must ask for permission first from the original table builder
or you could try here at the IPDB
at that site is a list of owners of that pin
some of them may have the pics you are asking about

Yea, because when someone spends weeks redrawing a whole playfield they don't care about permission. ![]()

images aren't exactly a personal thing
and you did not mention it was a redrawing of one
just images in general and they can be found anywhere, even thru google
since we tend to differ there let me just reiterate that STOCK images need no permission to obtain
yeah I have redone play field images too and yes it does take a while
but if it is just a stock pic than anyone can get it
it is the actual pin that one needs permission for
but really if one needs an exact pic than it's obvious
that the pin in question is being worked on or being redone
and in that case than you DO need permission
man did I screw this one up...okay permission should be gotten first...there is that better?

I did retract my original statement about permission giving and recieving
so yes you should always ask for the permission of the person who drew or redid it

What!!? They're almost exactly the same in all areas. FP has more bells and whistles (holograms, DMDs) but both editors use the same scripting, music, sound and texture importing.
FP is much more of a challenge though because the entire script has to be written, light sequences individually programmed, sounds, music and DMD animations must be ripped from the ROM and toys built, textured and animated.
Here's an example of using VP resources to create an FP table. After about an hours work I've made this much progress on The Simpsons. I have no intention of making this table, this is just an example of how easy it is to start your own table (providing you get permission to use the resources).

Good luck with TOM, it's a great table and needs to be added to FPs increasing library of classic recreations.

They got paid for their time and got their name on the playfield
To go a bit further with Devil's Advocate here(Homer Simpson's favorite machine), I think it's ironic about needing permission to use what is not 100% legal to copy, that has been copied. No honor among thieves? ![]()

Very true. But I suppose they had to source the original images themselves so you have to give them credit for that.
I completely admire redraw artists though. Those guys have some crazy skills and their contribution gets the highest praise from me.

Hey guys, I found Theatre of Magic playfield image. Not bad.
I know that I have long way to go with this ToM. It's one of my favorite table.
I updated some screenshots of my table so far...
Playfield Image :

Backglass/Translite, looks stunning but maybe too dark? :

Cabinet isn't in exactly good quality but I'll get to that later.

What do you guys think?

All recreations start with the playfield, once you have that in place (and the correct table dimensions) every thing should fit nicely into place.
The Translite is a little too dark but it can be lightened up with bulbs. Place a string of bulbs (non rendered) across the Theatre of Magic logo, colour them red and have them blink. Now the Translite is animated, just like the real thing.
The spinning box toy is going to be a challenge though. I hope you have some ideas about it.

Thanks for your suggestion.
Yeah, it's going to be challenge to make all magnets. Specifically for a magnet on spinning chest toy.. That one is nearly impossible.
So.. I updated the table quite lot.
Full Table screenshot... Got long road ahead of me.

Apron screenshot.. I will put cards in there later. ;p

Guess what? When I uploaded this, I realized I forgot a screw for right plastic. Also, there's no screws between top and bottom screws.
