A new mod from Pascal Janin adds multiball and speech to Gottlieb's Haunted House. Chris Williams fitted it to his machine and shows us how he did it.

Short answer, no.

I've played one of these modded machines and they are amazing. Feel like the game is finally finished :)

As a HH owner who wouldn't mind breathing some new life into it, this sounds pretty cool.
Would definitely love a little speech. Not a lot though, because I really do like the game music & sounds, but in spots where speech fits in I'm all for it.
Multiball, eh. I'm not sure on that.
Even with this mod, it still seems to have the feel that the game just isn't designed for multiball. The existence of the lower PF really makes that clear. & I've honestly never really played a game on HH & felt that there was anything missing. Already a lot going on with the 1 ball & 3 levels, & there is hardly any down time during play. & that is all I care about. I'm really not the biggest multiball fan just in general. Sometimes I get annoyed when I start a multiball. Either way, I am about to get the game fixed up & cleaned up for the holidays so that its going 100%.

It sure is a tough game to maintain, but of course a lot of that pays off in that you have one jam packed game on your hands. & that is another thing, adding multiball could complicate working on an already complicated game. I may be too much of a novice still to want to deal with that. Also I suppose I am a bit of a purist.

I think I heard that speech and multiballl were cut from the original due to budget constraints at the time, not surprised after all the other features which were packed into this table. Playing the mod felt totally natural to me, but I haven;t played as much standard HH as you have Rob. The speech sounded totally cool... The mod felt total quality rather than a hacked up version of HH.

If I owned a real machine like you do I'm not sure if I would install the mod as it's a one way street. Having the chance to play it was fun though.
