Those Looks great!

All of these new pinball tables and companies making console pinball games are sort of making FP and VP obsolete for me.

yea right. For one those arn't real tables, which is ok once in awhile, but if you play real pinball at all, you want recreations of the real thing. And it might look good but the physics are going to be the true test if it's good or not.

If you want real tables, why would you have bought a VirtuaPin smile.gif Your logic is not logical. smile.gif

It's logical, if you consider VirtuaPin as a simulation of a real pinball.
Same thing with sport games, racing games. Some want an arcade approach, others a realistic approach.

I gotta agree with CaptainNemo... outside of a few exceptions, there are very few "original" PC/game system tables that I've enjoyed as much as the recreated "real-life" tables. I got into Zen Pinball for awhile but something about it leaves me cold. The tables seem too.. I don't know... repetitive, maybe? This new set doesn't seem like it's gonna do it for me... the whole "changing ball physics" takes away from it being actually like real pinball. And I've always hated those "pinball-as-adventure-games" entries (Mario Ball, Sonic Spinball, those horrible Sierra Games tables). Too frustrating! One series I was a fan of was Balls of Steel. Sure wish they'd recreate that for modern systems!

Because I own 22 real machines. I'm out of room. Only option I have now is to buy a bigger house. No matter what house you buy, your going to have limited space. So VP takes up the slack for the others you like, but don't want to own. Or these rare games for europe that I never get to see. So VP has it's place in my collection. not a replacement for real pinball, but it's close enough.

Plus, i'm a tournament player. This allows me to learn the rules in depth for games I normally wouldn't put that much time on.

Makes sense now. smile.gif

I seems to like the Zen Marvel tables better than the normal recreated video pinball tables, only because I think they make great use of the video capabilites of the computer in their games and I am a Marvel fan. I also think Zen's physics (especially the flippers) are better than The Pinball Arcades, but I only have a ps3 system to compare them on.

All Pinball is good, it is like pizza. smile.gif

TPA physics are definitely better now, especially with the last 2 DLC's that the PS3 doesn't have yet. Though Funhouse has some of the improved physics, but it is a bit slow playing for my liking. The newer DLC is definitely better.

Has anybody played Dream Pinball 3D for iPad? It just came out a couple weeks ago I think. It costs a few bucks, & had mixed reviews, so I didn't buy it. But if the physics are even halfway decent I think I'll give it a shot. Was hoping somebody else would of given it a try by now.

No. When the game first came out it was the first of it's kind to be built entirely in 3D (like Future Pinball). They should really drop the 3D now, it is kind of misleading.

To date, only Nintendo's 3DS has real 3D tables. And you don't need cardboard glasses!

If you have those cardboard glasses, here's a few 3D images I created:

Jungle Boy

Ripley's Believe it or Not

Medievel Madness

Funhouse

I've got it.

It was developed by 'A.S.K. Homework. If you're familiar with their other pinball products for the iPad, you can expect more of the same with Dream Pinball 3D. There is still fun to be had, but it's really not very good 'realistic' feeling pinball....

Oh, I have those tables but they play awful. I read in comments for that game that the physics were better but the most recent update screwed them up a bit (such as the weak center shots). I wouldn't know, I only picked it up a few weeks ago. So does Dream Pinball play like the A.S.K games currently? Or the A.S.K. games before the update? Unless the improvement is a lot better, I might not bother.

I did just notice that Pinball Fantasies HD came out recently & I just picked it up. I already had Pinball Dreams HD. Very cool having those classic games not just in HD & cleaned up, but with retina support.
