MataHari Scapino - FSMod

Version: 1.0.0
Category: VP 9.x MOD Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): Scapino, Mod by Unclewilly

Description:
Scapino's MataHari Cabinet Table modified for FS view
Took Scapio's MataHari Cabinet table ad made it playable for people who can't use spannig for whatever reason.
-Moved Backglass off the screen
-Scaled the table so the playfield fills the entire screen
-Moved and resized the decals for fullscreen vew.
-Resized ad moved all reels for fullscreen view
-Made the DMD visible and removed DMD positioning so you can drag it to the secod monitor or place it where you would like on a sigle rotated monitor.

I hope this helps for people who cannot span or only have a single monitor but still like the cabinet tables on a rotated screen.

-The only issue i see with this table and the origional table is that sometimes the reels show some odd behaviour when they change, i think this is due to the overlapping trasparent reels issue in vp9. From the testig i have done, it plays almost exactly as the original spaing verson.

Thanks Unclewilly,

Nice job on the conversion. I appreciate the effort.

As always, Scapinos tables are first rate.

Cheers.

Unfortunately I have a problem with this table unclewilly. If I put the DMD on my 2nd monitor the table grinds to a slow unplayable crawl. When I put the DMD back on the primary display (ie the playfield) it runs perfectly. Obviously my other tables do not show this problem - any ideas?

I really have no idea. it runs perfectly on my system reguardless of whree the dmd is. do you have the cabinet .dll.
I have noticed vp9 is very touchy when it comes to hardware and differing video configurations.

I really don't have a high powered system and it runs smooth for me with the dmd on the second monitor.
the only thing I could suggest is to maybe try scapino's speed fix. it is the same exact table as the 16:9 that curt released except the backglass has been removed.

I have found the root of the problem. It appears that for this type of DMD (The non graphical ones) this problem happens on all tables with the same type of display (ie: Just the numerical DMD's). eg: Eight Ball Deluxe has the same issue, however none of the games with the graphical DMD's have the problem. I usually play the 90's pins so I don't get to play these older pins much. When I used to play 8 ball deluxe I played it in spanned mode and had the DMD disabled because it had the nice reels which worked fine.

However now that I am testing Hyperpin I am using the table set you did with the DMD now enabled, this is why I have only just come across the issue.

Anyway, the bottom line is this. If the DMD is placed on the 2nd monitor AND resized to anything other than the default size (either manually or by script I tried them both) then the game goes to a crawl. If I right click on the dmd and restore to default size then the game comes back to life and every thing is good. Except the DMD is now tiny instead of being a nice big DMD on the 2nd monitor (Defeating the purpose of it being there).

If the DMD is on the main playfield it is fine at any size.

Now this problem happens in vp straight so HP isn't to blame HOWEVER, because HP doesn't support the reels and DMD off on these games then anyone with a similar configuration to mine is going to have these problems on all VP tables that have the numerical DMD's. It must be something in pinmame/vp that handles these types of numerical DMD's differently. It can't be purely my graphical setup otherwise the full graphical DMD's would have the same problem and they don't.

Yet another problem added to the list unfortunately when running under HP....Damn.

Here's my update posted at Hyperpin re this issue just in case others here experience it (As it is more a pinmame problem I think)...

------------------------------------------
Ok, I did some more testing and tried to put the backglass onto a monitor hanging off a separate video card. That worked better but the ball was not smooth and would be annoying.

I have settled with putting the backglass back on my 2nd DVI output on my primary card, resetting the DMD window size and selecting the "Double display" option in pinmame. This at least gets it to a reasonable size.

Seems to be a problem in the way pinmame renders when not using the default or double size option. Perhaps the pinmame team should look into this...

I'm sorry to hear this. I have no issues with this table or any of the other fs tables reguardless of where the dmd is placed. I spoke with about 15 other people who are also having no issues. this leads me to believe it is a hardware issue with vp/pinmame.

yes it's for a single wide screenl rotated monitor. make sure the hardware rendering box is checked in the editor.
if you are using a 4:3 monitor scapino has a release for that in vp8 table downloads.

Thanks for the quick reply. My monitor is not wide screen or rotated. Looks like I may need to get a widescreen rotating monitor. Any suggestions?
