I can't imagine them actually scrapping up $55k, but I pledged my $10 nonetheless.

55K? That's delusional. Also, making the operator's menu exclusive for 100 dollar donations? That's just stupid. Bloody Pro Pinball had the op menu in there, and while you did need to unlock the actual game affecting things (# of balls, time limits, etc.), all the bits and bobs were there. I can't see this succeeding at all.

Just throwing this out there too - if they don't reach their goal, they don't get a cent and everything goes back to the donators.

If they dont reach the goal, we will never get Twilight Zone...

So someone please donate $50,000... LOL Worship.gif

If they can get $5000 a day for 11 days, they will reach it...

Certainly won't be coming from here. We needed months to get the cash together for the Unity license and that was only 1,5K. A month is just WAY too little time for a fanbase this niche. I'd have estimated about six months time would be enough, just to get the word out to enough people and manage to drum up enough of an interest for the cash to come together. Instead, it'll fall flat with more than 20K still to go and nothing will happen. Such is the way of Kickstarter.

You'd be surprised: Kickstarters that drag on more than a month actually fail more often than not because people lose interest. If you don't make what you need in a month, history shows that you never will.

Well they've got 3.5K in just over an hour! I know there will be a serge to start of with but think about it, if every member on this forum donated just $2 then they hit the needed target....whats $2!!.

I myself have donated $25, after all if this doesnt come off then we can kiss goodbye to ever seeing the likes of, Star Wars, Star Trek TNG, Indiana Jones, The Addams Family etc sad.gif

When did an indie game developer doing a Kickstarter become ridiculous and unprofessional? They wanna make something. They can't afford to make something. That's pretty much why Kickstarter exists.

I guess I don't see them as an indie game developer. $55k? That is around 7500 game sales (averaging different prices on different consoles). This should be absolutely nothing for them to accomplish with all of the systems they are selling to. It just seems strange to me.

The Kickstarter movement itself is actually a quite sound idea making large waves in the video game industry. It does allow smaller studios to break free from the larger publishers and actually bring out the games they want, this movement being spearheaded by the Double Fine studio's Kickstarter, which garnered 3.3 million dollars out of about 450K dollars asked for, because a ton of people want Tim Schafer to make another point-and-click adventure. Replay Games also managed to get a great amount of money to finance a HD remake of the original Leisure Suit Larry, and a team of devs around Brian Fargo, one of the minds behind the original Fallout games, managed to finance Wasteland 2, the game Fargo always wanted to make.

There's a ton of great stuff out there being pitched by legends of the business that were usually being strangled by stupid publishers only out for pure profit. I'm not 100% convinced of Farsight myself, because I have yet to try anything they've made, what with Pinball Arcade apparently not being on PC. So I'm still very wary of these guys, which might explain my pessimistic attitude.

Plus, would they support 2-3 monitors in the game? If not, I definitely would not be willing to donate.

Yes, they have said multiple monitor & cab support will be in the PC version.

Someone donated $1000!

Almost up to $10,000 already on the first day.

I see nothing wrong with showing love for all 3 points(VP, FP, and the new kid on the block: Farsight). Pinball's pinball, right? Just because party A did table B shouldn't discourage anyone else for doing the same. If I can toss in a disk into a game console & play TZ(or any other game), I'll be more than happy to pay for it.

Sure, I'll donate but I'd want a share of the company. I say, $20 for 10% of the company. Take it or leave it.

If you cant support a great new pinball game, your not really a true pinball fan... your just a VP or FP fan only.

Having a new pinball game is great because you can play it on multiple devices like mobile and consoles unlike VP and FP... The more options we have the better.

I don't know about that. Because someone doesn't want to fork out cash for a game, they already have, doesn't make them "not a true pinball fan". It's like the people who have a record on vinyl, and a nice record player, do they really want to go and buy the CD version? They could just convert it to mp3 and be done with it. Now if you have some Rare, impossible to find awesome versions of things, then you might have more of a market. TZ is one of the most widely produced games out there. I'd be more than happy to contribute for nice high end version of. Loch ness, Big bang bar, Defender, Joust, King Pin (capcom), Krull, Pinball Circus, and some others all for the Wii, PS3 or VP cabinets. Throw them all on one disc, and i'd buy it.
