Paragon

Version: 1.0.0
Category: VP 8.x Recreations

Author(s): Coroner, Joe Entropy, Emeritus

Description:
A Visual Pinball joint by Coroner, Emeritus, and Joe Entropy.
Original Release: 13 JULY 2002

Manufacturer: Bally
Date Of Manufacture: June, 1979
MPU: Bally MPU AS-2518-35
Type: Solid State Electronic (SS)
Production: 9,120 units (confirmed)

Theme: Fantasy
Specialty: Widebody
Notable Features:
  • Flippers (4)
  • Pop bumpers (4)
  • 4-in-line drop targets (1)
  • 3-bank drop targets (1)
  • Kick-out holes (3)
  • Rollunder spinner (1)
Design by: Greg Kmiec
Art by: Paul Faris

Notes: 'Paragon' is the first game using in-line drop targets, and the first widebody production game from this manufacturer.

Two different versions of the playfield have been found: the standard playfield with four flippers (as shown on the flyer) and another with only three flippers, reportedly sold in France and Germany. In the three flipper version, a ballguide and a single post replaced the upper right flipper, while a minipost added at the opening beneath the bumper in "the lair" made it more difficult for the ball to leave the playfield that way.

Yes! All apologies to PD, but this is the best Paragon recreation, from the sounds to the very feel of the way it plays! If you don't have this one in your collection already, it's a must-have!

This was requested by PHIL75. In an effort to preserve the great works of authors past, I will try to upload all available versions of a table, unless specifically requested by author name.

I have a later version of this great table by Entropy and Coroner in case you need it Noah. I had a friend who had Paragon at home back in 1980, and it helped create some of my favorite pinball memories.

Sure, Humid, I'd like the most up-to-date version.

I'll shoot you a PM.

Thanks!
