The only way to do it is creating ball with desired color at any kicker (see Kicker.CreateBall sub syntax). There is no way to change the ball once it has been created. But you can capture the ball with kicker during gameplay, destroy it, and create the new one with expected color.

thx sebek,
hm ok, i have enough kicker on my pf.
can you write me the explicit command to change the ball in orange?
or a site where i can find the command.
but its not posible to change the design of the ball, right?

another question, can i darken my playfield for a event ?
i wanna simulate some kind of a storm think.gifwink.gif

am not sure if FP uses the same options, but in VP one can set an image to be on the ball

FOR CHANGING BALL COLOR

THIS IS THE VP CODING:

FP although different I think uses the same values
if not, well screw it then this is for VP
biggrin.gif

now you can name it anything ya' want, this is out of my Cavegal pin
so it is named volcanokicker, and honestly nowadays, since i write way more code,
I tend to shorten names to a few letters, writing them down in a word processor if I must
naming it VK just to help save time
the color values are from vp's editor this one happens to be reddish as the 255 is the red value

Dim R, G, B

Sub Kicker6_Timer()
VolcanoKicker.CreateBall.Color=RGB(255,107,31)
VolcanoKicker.Kick 0,20,1.5
Kicker6.TimerEnabled=false
PlaySound "volcano"
AddScore 5000
End Sub

If you take a look at my Spy vs. Spy table.. I put some flashing lighting on the backbox (hidden from view). When the lights flash, the whole table brightens up. Maybe you could use something like this to simulate your storm. Good luck! Table is looking good!

Watch from about 0:46 on...

hi rawd smile.gif

the idea with the flashers is fine, looks good on your table, i think when i shoot in the lock, i turn off all lights, so i have a better effect with the flashers and the eyes from the dragon. 2 flashers are on both sides in the upper end of the table.
i must testing if i need more of them to make the "lightnings= stronger

my idea was a darker playfield with a overlay eventually, but i have no idea to realize this^^wink.gif

okay again i am not sure how fp works with the table images but with vp we can set a play field image to a light
then turn it on or off to switch out the image from one to another
I also use droppable play fields (walls set to the entire pf size)
set at a height of .1 off the table and a bottom value of -1 so it disappears completely when not in use
and make it non-collidable
so either a darker pf image with maybe a light turned off (the lights in fp far outshine (pardon the bad pun)
the lighting effects in vp. so area lighting is easier to do in fp
but for a darker pf I would have to (in vp) make a whole other one then switch it out using again a light or wall
This was done with Sanatorium and Wall-E as both their play fields change during game play using lights with
two different images one for the 'on' position and one for the 'off'

re.
so i test a little bit with a surface above the pf. max high 0,1 low 0,0 (negative isnt possible)
and set a shapeble light on the surface, when lit its a drak grey and off white.
that looks good, but i have problems with the other lights, if the camera moves, the lights change their surface...that looks not very well.
i try to set all lights and decals on the new surface, but that dont bring a advantage....
some ideas how i can correct this?

doesn't FP use layering for the table objects,
is it possible then to set the cams to one level and the lights to another?
would that solve the light issue
see in vp the camera is fixed so everything that goes down on the table stays in the one position
it may move back and forth with animation or an event but the camera itself will only
show that one angle of the pin, In fp with the camera swinging around
yeah you may have weird problems I am guessing with lights and textured surfaces
I am lost working within the FP editor and the editors are so vastly different
I can't even begin to help you with the lights if this doesn't help at all. sry

thats no problem, im thankfull for the thinking process, and i can test something new with your idea.
i test the same with arcade cabinet view, when the camera is fixed, but the texture from the lights are not clear,
and the kickerholes filled with lines.
but it was worth to test:) thats the way i learned a little bit more and more, its our second table, and we have to get better.

thx lox:)

hey, everyone learns! Even me! (shush you guys!) )Looking back at some of my earlier tables, man they were ugly! and so empty too!
but you will figure it out or some one else here who works in FP can help you I'm sure, heck you and I posted
within a day of each other! Give it about a week see if any of the other 47 thousand members may have hit
upon that problem and know the answer

im found a solution smile.gif)))
one of slamtilts tables has an effect that darken the playfield. i need some time to figure it out how he make it, but now its working:
(thx to slamtilt for his good work)

he create an overlay on a fake surface (such a small one outside the pf) and set the overlay on it. the problem was i dont found the fakesurfaces on his table;), so i must test it out how he makes it. the image list on the overlay is a darker playfield. so i can active it on the script easily.
the problem was, the overlay kills all light on the playfiled, so i must create a second fake surface and place all the lights i need for my eventon it.
with this solution you have no issues with the lights:) and it looks very well:)

i know what you mean faralos;) it isnt so easy when you have no knowledge about vbasic and fp. but its make a lot of fun to crack the problems and the search for solutions that all so work how i like , hehe.
sometimes when im stuck, i need ideas from others, that activate my brain, or where i can see how they create her tables.
now i can call the eternal dragon with my seven dragonballs in the right athmosphere, with darkness and lightnings, and glowing red eyes muhahaha:P
<---happy smile.gif

thanks for all ideas and hints from all here:)

lox

Check out Wild West table and discover Night Duel mode. Playfield goes from day to night. You need some smart overlays to achieve that.

well my sanatorium uses the same idea, I have two playfields
one is lighter than the other one so at a certain time in the game
it will go from daylight to a night time pin, it is just a picture set to a light though
the only time I used a droppable pf surface was in Zen
and I found out you can't have a droppable target sitting on the dropping surface
now again this is vp but does fp also use the same principals
