*******
Second Release v1.1 4-16-2009

After much feedback about a problem with the ball leaving the left ramp, I decided to tackle that problem.

I couldn't get the ball to leave the ramp in course of normal game play on my end,
so I created a kicker at the bottom of the ramp to kick a ball up the ramp at a ludacriss speed,
and I was able to troubleshoot the problem.

It turns out there must be a slight problem with the VP physics, concerning a concave wall.

The curved wall on the topside of the ramp, would let a ball just drift through every now and then,
about every 5 balls kicked up there, or so.

I added a second wall on the outside of the curve, and added a hit event to the main wall,
that kills the balls y velocity, and its z veleocity, so that it only travels in the x direcion (around the curve).

I did that first, and the ball still every now and then creeped through the left side of the ramp,
and spilled onto the top of the plastic to the left of the ramp.

Once I added the second outside wall, it never happend again.

Thanks all for the feedback!

*******
First Release v1.0 3-23-2009

I spent the better part of 6 months getting the gloves to work. I created and scrapped 4 different methods before
finally finding a method that worked, overlapping transparent reels.

Because this table uses them, It will only run in VP 8, NOT VP 9 (for the moment, I think they are working on getting transparent overlaying reels working).

I also could not get the "lost ball matrix pick up" to work, but this is not too important, as you can press "B" to add a ball in the
trough, if one should get lost.

Thanks go out to the testers....
Kabuki Jo, Petri, Tab, Destruk, AGFaralos
, NoahFence, Yogiholzer, and Wangho!

Thanks to: Kabuki Jo ,KidC, WPCMame, and Destruk for thier work on the previous version.

Enjoy Johnny Mnemonic!

Your patient diligence on this table's glove issue really shows scapino. The flippers feel just right for all the main shots, and of course your GI lighting adds great atmosphere. Another slick addition to your stable of entertaining tables. Thanks for all you put into this.

There is a marked difference between the beta you sent me and this new 1.0 release and it's all for the better. The ball handling seems better tuned and the table makes more sense to me now. I was impressed with the beta, but you hit a home-run with this one. I can see you spent more time on the sounds and and shots. The lighting is really cool and glove too! Another fine addition to the Scapino line-up of tables, thanks man!

I gotta disagree with the man up above. The first 3 tables especially already have amazing versions and I don't see why we need yet another version of those tables. I could agree with Big Bang Bar or Champion Pub, but heck, I'd rather see a Scapino'd Volcano table or something else from that era of the early 80's. Something simpler, but with the Scapino atmosphere and great early 80's backglass art.

10 months in development... ain't that long for a SVP. CFTBL took about a year.

Nice work there, Kurt! A new test for my PC then...

Any plans for the next project?

This table is ridiculously beautiful. Everything about this table is AWESOME. I love the lighting, gameplay and view. I think I'm but only a few who prefers the not so wide viewing angle.(which is what I loved about Pacdude's tables) Anyways Incredible work on J.M cant wait to play more games. Looking incredibly forward to your project!! smile.gif

Thanks again, all!

I've decided to do Mata Hari for my next table. I like to alternate between newer complex tables and simpler older classics.
Then after that, maybe an update for one of my already done tables.

Thank you very much for JM Scapino biggrin.gif
But I have some problems with the table, first problem is that the ball goes trough the left ramp. Second problem is that the info thing on the right side won't always disappear on it own and I don't know how to make it disappear.

First of all let me start out by saying WOW!!! What an amazing table. You are the Thomas Kinkade of VP. (He is known as the master of light) your lighting effects are incredible.

About the left ramp issue. I have had the same problem many times. It falls through the left ramp and gets stuck in a couple of places. A couple of nudges usually frees it. As far as the info screen I have not had any problems. Turns off when I start the game.

Thank you for another gem.
