They share the same host as us, and I believe there was a notice that a lot of the large sites were being moved to improve that particular server performance, now that I think about it.

or maybe they hit the data limit and have to wait for October or pay more to go back on line?

A few days ago the MAWS part of the site was compromised and a ton of spam was sent from our account, the hosts have therefore shut us down and will not discuss the issue and have not provided a backup of our account as yet (remember MW was made up of hundreds of projects, so no complete backup is held by any of us)

MAMEWorld is over 100 gigs in size, so hard to move, few hosts offer affordable packages with the bandwidth and space we require.

First priority is to get the forums back online, we will see how it goes from there.

Stay tuned, this is not the end....
