Press Your Luck

Version: 1.0.0
Category: VP 9.x Originals

Author(s): Michael Youngblood

Description:
Today, Three People, Are going after big bucks. But they have to avoid the Whammy. As they play the most exciting game of their lives.
From Television City in Hollywood. It's time to Press Your Luck. Hosted by the late Peter Tomarken, three contestants must press to get the big bucks. Along the way they better keep clear of the little red devil called 'The Whammy'. If you're not he'll clean you out of what you won so far. The contestant with the most money and prizes wins the game and keeps it. Like Michael Larsen who outwitted the Press board and the Whammy of amounting over $110,000.00. And the scandal was born. It's time to press the pinball version of the 1983-1986 season of Press Your Luck!

This is one show I loved. Faintly remember the Lawson episode - was having some work done on my car at Sears. All I remember was him continually "pressing his luck" and nailing prizes. Now we know......... laugh.gif

GSN showed the complete special (Big Bucks! The Press Your Luck Scandal) a few times. Unfortunately, I always missed it. Downloaded all 11 parts from YouTube, so I finally saw the WHOLE thing.

Lets face it, even his brother thought he was a slimeball. BUT.....he made the money by PAYING ATTENTION. No cheating. He couldn't help it if the show couldn't realize that someone would eventually figure out the pattern.

They wanted to have more patterns but CBS did not want to pay for it before Michael Larson.

Very interesting video post Rawd. I hate how they try criminalize people who figure things out and 'beat' the system. CBS must have taken lessons from Las Vegas.
The use of skill and mental ability is not cheating, however to those how are unable to 'beat' a game or find themselves on the beaten end they sure make a witch hunt.

At least at the very end... the host of the show, and some of its producers gave him credit and said he deserved his money.
