I'm gonna be starting a brand new JD table very soon (all this is discussed in another thread). I own the real table, so of course I have everything I need right here to get the job done right, I can grab resources/pics as I need them.
I'm doing it in 4:3, not full screen, but I'm sure somebody will want to convert it to full screen, & you are more than welcome to if you want. It is a widebody, so I wonder how it would look in full screen?
So you can wait for that.

Otherwise, I'm not sure what PD's mod rules were when he left the scene.
But my opinion is that the table needs more than just a mod, it really does need redone from scratch, which is why I want to get started on doing exactly that. There are a number of things that can't really be truly corrected with this table unless its pretty much rebuilt. PD did the best with the resources he had at the time though, I'm sure.
But not even the table dimensions are correct in this version, nor are the widebody measurements. No crane animation, no spinning deadworld, no deadworld mod. It needs all that & then some. I'm excited to get working on a new version, I really like the table.
So hopefully it won't be long before I maybe post a WIP or two!

I don't know why you're asking me - PacDude, aka The Dude was ok with mods as long as you leave his credit in there and make it clear that your table is a mod. -- most every table of his has that disclaimer in the table info.

http://www.vpforums....i...&hl=thedude That's the last post from him I know of.

"-Mods are allowed (as usual with my releases), but please label your tables as such, both in this table info section and the table and zip file names and leave my credits intact. I'd prefer you keep your own RevHistory file with a different name, but including the previous entries prior to your mod."

Ad for redone or not Rob - you haven't played the latest version of his game which has everything you say is missing save the real table dimensions, and that table is still old.

V 1.0 - First Public Release
V 1.1 - 11/26/03
- Added latest rails (dark, medium, light)
- Added latest game room backdrop
- Fixed decal white pixel glitch near right rail
- Adjusted lower right ramp return's
transparency
V1.2 - 9/21/07 (Internal Release)
- Added Working Dead World Visuals
- Changes Made With VP8 Beta 7.5
Use VP8 to avoid reel glitches with ATI
graphics cards
V1.3 - 9/22/07
- Support for more rom sets
- Added GameRoom2 backdrop
- Added animated standup targets
- Other graphical improvements/Changes
V1.4 - 9/23/07
- L-1 Rom set now supports fully working
Dead World with full capture (holds 3
balls). Other rom sets do not capture.
- More accurate Dead World handling
- Other adjustments related to above
V1.5 - 9/26/07
- Note: Requires VP8 to display planet/arm
properly
- Fully independent crane/planet operation
which gives more accurate behavior
- Improved ball alignment and now uses
changing ball images to appear more to
fit 'in' the planet wheel as it moves

My bad! whtflag.gif
I'm still way behind on getting my tables updated, clearly! & I don't play much, especially this table since I own it I don't have much reason to want to play it in VP.
Also, its tough updating tables without knowing original release dates. I know the time frame of tables I need to update, but I literally have to go through every VP8 upload here & cross reference version #'s with what version #'s I have, then update accordingly. No small task.

I played 1.5.
Cool that he got at least something in there for some crane/deadworld animation, it held people over for a few more years. But I'm still excited to start up a new version, where aside from visuals I really want to make the gameplay flow as I feel it should. I do have the table in mint condition sitting next to me, so that should be fun, actually not having to deal with lack of resources when building the table!
