This table is a MOD based on the UncleReamus and Noah Fentz' table (4/3 version). Thanks to them for allowing me to use their version smile.gif

This screenshot is updated regularly, but check the thread if you want see more images wink.gif

Nice job on the render. Too bad vp didn't look like this, maybe one day. How close in vp do you think you can make it look?

It looks great in that render! But what does it look like in VP?
I don't mind being called a PINHEAD!
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy!

This is a sneak peak of my current work on a T2 MOD, inspired by the Chrome Edition (my first table by the way wink.gif).
Everything will be done with EMReels (like Scapino does).
The snapshot is not done from VP, it’s a render done with an external 3D software.
80% of the VP table is already done and it’s already playable, but I will have to script all the EMReels.

I would like to thank Noah and UncleReamus to let me use their table (4/3 version) as base to build mine. Especially for their script.
Also, a big thanks to Light66 to allow me to use the textures he did for the FP version.

1st- I commend you for doing this Mod, I have seen a real chrome modded T2 at chicago Pinball Expo 2010 it had all the Chrome modifications from the guy that does them in Germany, and I will say, it makes the game.

2nd- Since you are using EM Reels, there will be no way to tweek the Lay Back after it is produced, can you set and configure the Table to an Inclination of 5, FOV 40, and Lay Back of 80 to give it the most realistic viewpoint.
You should see more of the top of the flippers and not the back; and farther up the playfield you will see more of the side of things vs the tops.

This is one Mod I will definately be watching with some anticipation....

thanks

When I test the render in VP without any cuts, the result is exactly the same. In a certain way, it should be actually better in the future, because this is a temporary render, with draft quality and no anti-aliasing.
But it’s true that I could have some problems when I will cut the table in different zones (flippers, slingshots, bumpers, lights, etc…). It’s because I’m using global illumination and when you move something, all the lighting around it is affected, so at some point it’s tricky to avoid all the “pop” between all the zones. It’s something I have in my head and I will do my best to avoid the bad joins or reduce them at their maximum.

I will also have to take care of the ball reflections. During the tests I did, it wasn’t really disturbing to don’t have animation on the ball, but in order to make it better, I will animate the ball texture through the script (20 different textures for example or more if necessary), it won’t be the same as a real reflection, but it can simulate it a little bit.
And the last problem will be the reflection of the ball onto the table… I don’t have solution for this unfortunately wink.gif

When VP 910 was released (first version with lay back), I did some tests with it, but unfortunately I went to the conclusion that I wasn’t going to use this option on this table… 2 reasons for that:

- Once I have a good lay back with VP (with good scales and position), I need to recreate exactly the same point of view and the same lay back effect in my 3D software. The problem is that I don’t have the lay back option in my 3D camera wink.gif. So I need to bend all my objects geometry, which is not impossible but really complicated to do! The meshes need to be adapted for this. I started this table 2 months before VP910 and I would have to redo a lot of things and it would take even more time to finish the table.

- My current 3D camera matches perfectly with the VP one, but it also took a while to get it. If I move any parameter, I need to resynchronize it again! (x_X).

I know it’s too bad to don’t use this new functionality, I was a bit frustrated to decide not using it, but since it’s my first table, I prefer to limit the difficulties. Maybe next table, that way I will be able to plan everything from the beginning, taking into account this option immediately. wink.gif

I don’t know yet if I will make the 4:3 version after the FS one. With the EM Reel tables, the conversion is really complicated. But maybe I will have the motivation to do it smile.gif

Soon a new update with the skull (almost done), the bumpers and some elements around this area… wink.gif

Update – New images

Here is a new render (not from VP yet wink.gif )

Also a few snapshots to show you guys some models in 3D.

And here is what I still have to do with an estimation of the time it could take to do it (regarding how much free time I have):

In 3D
- Space ship + Light MOD (1 week)
- Try to improve the apron and maybe make it simpler (2 days)
- Modify the look of the flippers logo (easy)
- The 3 Ramps (2 weeks)
- All the lights (it could take long)
- "Final pass" in order to fix and adjust everything (1 or 2 days)
- Animation (Flippers and slingshots are done, but still have to animate the bumpers, cannon, targets etc...) (1 day)
- Figure out how the render will be cut for the EM-reels in VP (2 days)

In VP
- Model adjustments and finalize the game play (2 days)
- Script – Flippers animation with EM-reels [1st BETA] (2 days)
- Script – All animated objects with EM-reels (Cannon, lights, slingshots, targets, bumpers, kickers, triggers etc...) (It will take forever)
- Script – Animate the ball texture, depending on what area it is situated (2 days)

- Sound (4 days)

I know... I'm VERY slow!!! biggrin.gif
