The Bally Game Show VP911 v1.02

Version: 1.0.2
Category: VPinMAME 9.x Recreations

Author(s): jpsalas

Description:
Based on the table by Bally from 1990
This table needs VP9.1.1 to run.
It is angle independent, so adjust it as you please.

Update 1.01:
- Made the table faster by removing the alpha transparency from the ramp borders. It looks the same only the the ball isn't visible under the border ramps. If I haven't told you I guess you would have never been aware of it smile.gif

Update 1.02
-Added the skillshot lights

Excellent looking table JP - thanks.
I'm very pleased as I owned one of these until a few months ago...great to have an updated version to play - the alpha ramps look great. I had to tone down the slider on the video options to get it ro run smoothly, but there doesn't appear to be any visual difference.

Bug report sad.gif
The wheel (ramp) isn't registering correctly...it's only working on the first hit on startup of the game in VP, any subsequent hits in any game are registering "spot letter" rather than spin the wheel or nudge the wheel. Restarting vp player allows you one hit again. Sorry, but this really needs fixing...the wheel is a major part of the game.

Thanks again JP.

Hey Wizards_Hat: could you download and try the table again? I have made a small change so let's see if it works better now. smile.gif

So this table really tests out the new VP's alpha ramps with all those ramps overlaying each other. Even with the slider all the way left in settings, the ball is still a little choppy (noticeable only when its moving slowly). Flintstones wasn't choppy for me. Is anyone else experiencing this? Who isn't and what's your setup.

I have Intel i940 cpu
2 gts 250 1gb cards
6gb ram
(certainly plenty of horse power I think).

If the answer is that everyone has this issue and we should wait for more optimized VP versions, I'm perfectly fine with that. If the answer is that I'm the only one with issues, then that will suck.

First about the ramp only registering the first hit: I don't know why I though the gates had a hit and a unhit event, when they only have a hit event. But it is ok now, since I added a trigger to register the ball. The desktop table and the FS table are updated now, so if you were one of the first who downloaded the table you should download the table again (it has the same version number).

The table runs very well with my dual core2 3ghz, also with a GTS 250 with 1Gb. But it even runs better with a portable with a Celeron (p4 kind) and a built in Intel graphics card (it doesn't use the HR on, of course, but it flyes and there is no slow down at all, go figure smile.gif )

I too am having stuttering issues, Roadshow plays fine, Flintstones has minimal stuttering, Gameshow is unplayable. I'll have to try messing with that slider now.

Thank you very much for this release. I think my PC is to slow for this table. The flipper react too late after press the keys.
Flintstones and Roadshow runs very well.

I have an issue with the ramps not displaying correctly, still very pixelated how can I fix this? Please help sad.gif

My system specs are
CPU Intel core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHZ
1GB Nvidia geforce GTX 280
12GB DDR3 RAM
Vista 64bit Ultimate

Using the new VP9.11

Just Tried out Roadshow with the same results. Ramps are pixelated.

Flinstones is the same. What am I doing wrong? I tried to re-download VP911 with no results.

Never mind I fixed the problem. The table really stutters though. Flinstones seems fine still not the smoothest it could be though. Hopefully they tweak VP to make it run even faster smile.gif

That's working great now JP - thanks for the quick fix.

For me, the alpha slider need to be about 1/2 way for it to not be choppy.

Just one other (very minor) bug report...I only know this from having owned the machine...the middle $ light on the playfield should be flashing for skill shot...only the one on the playfield, not the one on the backflash above the ramp. Listed on this table as "I56a". The skill shot is always the middle shot, and it always adds bonusX.

Regards,
Dan.

Is there a way to set the alpha slider per individual table? Or will I have to adjust it manually per table? I'm asking because I use VP-Man Frontend and it seems that the Alpha slider is a general VP setting and not a per table setting. Thank you.

No, Alpha Slider is a global setting. We discussed that and since it's depending on you system speed, we decided to put that in as a global setting. Try different settings. I bet you don't see any difference from half to full on any table. So if you have a good system, leave it on half.

Ok I'll leave at half. Thank you for the response smile.gif

**UPDATE** It seems that setting the slider to half as you and Wizards_Hat have suggested increases the performance immensely, though this table still wants to stutter. Is it safe to assume that VP 9.11 is still being perfected smile.gif
