there is a problem in VP9 2gb memory leak. Use this program and pinball works better (no more surface errors). [Link Removed]
Use 4gbpatch with VPinball.exe (works with all pinballs with this isue)

EDIT by staff: several virus scanners warn that the software that can be accessed by the above link may be a virus. Please read the rest of this topic before you atempt to d/l it!
Thanks.

It's not a memory leak. All that patcher does is make it so your program can access 4GB of virtual memory instead of 2GB on a 64bit OS. I don't know of any VP tables that use 2GB of memory though.
I also don't think it will fix ram that your video card doesn't have either.

2g tables huh? geez its bad enough to have some that top out at over 130 megs. and as far as i know vp only runs on one core. 2 g ram is nice to have though as it'll speed up your processor i am using just 1g and feel it always...and to speed up my computer a bit I turn off my antivirus, antispyware and ALL automatic download updates for everything as these will chew up processing speed as they download in the background.

Terminator 2 HD, Eartshaker HD and Judge Dread HD give me surface errors without this patch. Try it if you have problems with surfaces and you can see this patch solve this problem. I finish my table T2 HD FS version thx to this patch, without patch surface errors every time.

I have 8GB of physical ram in this machine on a 64bit OS and don't get surface errors. But sure, try it if you need it.

I cannot get T2HD to run on my desktop even with a 285GTX 1GB, and 8gb ram on Vista 64. This is the first and only table, where I have ever got a surface error. I will try this fix... thanks.

This patch work with Future pinball too, is not a Vcard memory problem, the problem is when vpinball.exe or futurepinball.exe use more than 2gb of memory. I can play 3 Angels again thx to this patch. I have 4gb W7x64 and ati 4870 with 1gb

Besides Ntcore.com is blocked by mcAfee security advisor, i would suggest not to use or try this software. The description seems very suspicious to me.

Use the new feature -> max tex dimensions to reduce most of the textures (except bmp)

FYI: If you would try to get over 1GB of texture mem, you would need something like over 40 textures <=2048*2048, or nearly 200 textures <= 1024*1024. And even then: The system asks via AGP aperture to get some ram for textures. That ram does not count as addition to the Ram that a process got from Windows.

You can do what you like with your computer, but i won't install it.

6 from 19 Virus scanner think that this program is malware.

Any program that doesn't do what programs normally do, would be seen as a virus or malware by something. What this program does is changes the EXE to be seen as a 64 bit program, instead of 32, which allows for more ram to be used on a 64bit OS. Of course, since VP is open source, you could just as easily and cleanly compile a 64bit version.
